Ephesians 5:8-14                       "Are we getting use to the dark"

I remember going to a local restaurant with candle light as it's main source of light, and it took some time before my eye's could get use to the light......Perhaps that is the problem today?

* Our sight has dimmed

Maybe our eyes have adjusted to this dark world....We no longer see the church as a place of worship! What is the purpose of the church? (Peace traded for popularity) (Power traded for possessions)

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is alamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

( Yes we have a light)

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Proverbs 4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

The shades of worldliness have been drawn....Many now sit in the dark!

* Our spirit has declined

Everybody knows when we are in the middle of an ecomonic decline! Some would say we are in a social decline (no morals), but not many see that we are in a spiritual decline! In spiritual decline sin appears less sinful, dirt appears less dirty, And God appears less needed! We need him!

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Remember when Lot went down into Sodom, This started his spiritual decline! By his actions, we see the effects on his whole family!

* Our strength has diminished

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

We are weak because we do not rely on Jesus!

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

We do not read our Bibles like they use too, We do not praise God like they use too, and we do not pray like they use too! That is why we do not have saints full of God like they use to be!!!!

* Our steps are defiled

We have tried to stumble around and do a work for the Lord, but we do not have to stumble around, and fumble around in the dark because we have the glorious gospel light

Read I John 1:6, III John :11

I John 1:5 "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all"

Adjust your eyes and see your need of salvation, adjust your spiritual eyes and see!
