Galatians 4:8-9            Feb. 6, 2000                  "A reminder to the church"

* A reminder to where they had been Verse 8 "Ye knew not God"

* They use to be lost! (Luke 19:10)
* They use to be lifeless! ( John 6:47)
* They use to be low! Serving idols and the flesh and not serving God!

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.
Yes we use to be dead, but now we are alive!
* A reminder to what they had become verse 9 " Ye have known God"
* They were saved! ( Romans 10:13)
* They were sure! (I John 5:13)
* They were spiritual! (Romans 8:14)
Now that we know him we should love different, live different, and look different!
* A reminder to why they were in bondage verse 9 " ye desire again to be in bondage"

* They were weak (because of beggarly elements)
* They were worldly (because of bondage)
* They were worthless (because of desires)
Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Bad habits like weak devotions, and worldly desires will send you to a wicked direction. Why are so many in bondage....They have turned from the Lord!

II PETER 1:16                 March 7, 2007                       “What we can not follow”
Christianity is under attack from every quarter! News media, academia, and science!

Peter has given us a wonderful point in this text, He wasn't following a fable, Let us look at some things we should not follow.
* We do not follow fables meaning (cunningly=crafty… Devised= invented= LIES)
They call creation a myth, but teach Evolution as fact (fact vrs fable)
They teach this without any evidence or transitional animals! In science they teach the big bang theory as truth, but yet do not allow sceintist with opposing views to have a say in this matter.
The Bible states:I Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

We follow the truth of the scripture (They are attacking the Word of God)
Psalms 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (KJV) 7 is God’s number, 6 is mans

John 17:17 - Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth
We follow the testimony of the scriptures (oldest source)
In any court case the best source, oldest source is always used.
II Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Fables abound like Dan Brown’s "Da Vinci code" Fiction based upon Fiction!
They expect us to take a blind leap in the dark, following Christ isn’t a blind leap into the dark, it’s walking in the light of the Word!
Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
* We do not follow the flesh
Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
We walk by faith
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Peter talked about (HIS MAJESTY) not Peter's, not Moses, and not Elijah ref.= Mt. of transfiguration Matthew 17:1-9
We see the flesh in every thing (ADS) even on TCT !
Fleshly worship has crept into the house of God!
* We do not follow fools
Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Fools reject the person of God (JESUS)
Fools reject the peace of God (Joy)
Isaiah 57:21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

Fools refute the power of God
Jesus is called (Theos) in the NT. He is God, He is divine. He is also called LORD. They may try to attack his deity, but He is still the LORD.

They often attack the deity of Christ Jesus. (Then/Today)
Fools refuse the pardon of God (Justification)

Job 1520 BC knew Jesus was Divine!
Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

Now another attack comes from James Cameron with the report of finding “The tomb of Jesus” Ossuaries (Caskets).
This report is about 2000 years too late, it was found "EMPTY"!
This was reported without anyone checking the truth of the report, and now we know it was actually found in the 1980's and was discounted then. Jesus would not have been known as Jesus of Jerusalem....He was Jesus of Nazareth.
Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Peter had to deal with critics in his day as we do in this day! But he said I have seen it all with my own eyes!

No Fable, but fact that Jesus is Lord!

Matthew 15:13-14 " Some need to get out of the ditch"

* Some have blindly Fallen

Some say they are in a rut, maybe they are in a ditch. Blind leaders leading the blind going nowhere fast....Sounds like many today.

* They can not see Eyes are wide shut to the truth!

Stuck in tradition of man! Not trusting God! They do not mind using a perversion of the word, because they have fallen blindly into it.

II Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

* They can not serve

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

* They can not stand

I Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

After falling they are not what they could be, and should be. How many have fallen...Lost testimony, and the touch of God.

* Some are blindly formal

* They no longer rejoice

Read Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again, I say rejoice.

*They no longer respond

No shouts, No tears and No Feeling.

They no longer care for the Instruction, They no longer care for the Inspiration, and they no longer care for the Invitation....They are a use to be!

* They no longer repent

The alter is forsaken....The alter could alter their life. Pride has taken over!

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

* Some are blindly fake

II Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

* Blindly not saved

They do not see a need, because they do not understand their nature. There is no greater need than your need of salvation.

* Blindly not seeking God

Read Luke 13:24

Sad thing to blindly fall into a ditch, but it is a worse thing to blindly fallinto hell.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Acts 2:38-41                10-30-2005        " Why they had joy in the church"

* They gladly received him verse 41

* They gladly received his pardon ( Luke 19:10)

* They glady received his power ( John 1:12)

* They gladly received his peace ( John 14:18)

* They gladly rejoiced in him ( Psalm 118:24)

* Singing with joy (Philippians 4:4)

* Shouts of joy (Psalm 32:11)

* Serving with joy (Ephesians 5:19)

* They gladly reflected him

* How they lived

* How they Loved one another (John 13:35)

* How they Left this walk of life

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Galatians 5:9             " A  LITTLE LEAVEN"

Leaven always represents evil, or satanic influence!
It just takes a little to spoil the whole...One bad apple can spoil the bunch.
In the Old testament we see the Children of Isreal commanded to eat only unleavened bread Reference Exodus 12:
Leviticus 2:4 And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil
* Today we have a little leaven in the ministry
The church today is going after every thing but Christ. We are more excited about programs than the power of God.
I Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
The church is here to win souls, and strengthen saints. Many have lost that vision for the leaven of worldliness.
Bible says " where their is no vision the people perish"
* Today we have a little leaven in the message
The message today is mixed with man's doctrine!
We do not have to mix anything in with the message of Christ. It is not Jesus plus something else. It is just Jesus!
John 6:48 I am that bread of life. no leaven needed!

Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees
The Pharisees did not have their lips and life showing the same thing.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
You will not be saved with the leaven bread, but the bread of life.
Romans 10:13
* Today we have a little leaven in the music
We have mixed in the leaven of wordliness in our praise music. Today they rock for Jesus, rap for Jesus, and it is just the leaven of the flesh.
Gospel music does not have to have a beat to be considered a good gospel song. It does need to be saturated with the blood, the book, and blessed hope to stir up our hearts to worship.
Psalm 100:1-2 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

II Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
* Today we have a little leaven in our motives
Sometimes selfish leaven is mix in - Is it for God's glory, or self?
Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Let us be very careful what we add to the ministry. Be sure it isn't the leaven of Satan. many times it is added by good intentions, but once it is added it will spoil the whole.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Psalm 73:1-17                               "What keeps our feet from slipping"
* Our feet should be planted firmly verse 2
The psalmist said nigh slipped...They almost slipped.
Why? Look at verse 3.
He was envious at the foolish, he saw a worldly prosperity.
It seems like they were having a great time!
It seems like they had every thing they needed!
Looks can be deceiving.
People can put on a good act!
Hollywood is full of people who look like they have it all, but most are very miserable......They lack love, life, and joy which can only come by the person of Christ!
Mark 8:36-37
Colossians 3:2
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
* Our faith should be planted firmly
How many are on slippery ground right now because they are trying to get to Heaven with out the Blood.
It is not salvation by the good church!
It is not salvation by the great works!
It is salvation by the grace of God!
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Some are about to slip into eternity....Not ready!
When I slip gravity takes over, and I fall down (never up) When people slip up in the faith they will also go down...Down in spirit. Down in service. Down in shame many times. How sad when a man has walked with the Lord many years faithfully, and one slip up is all people will remember. Be careful, guard your testimony!
* Our future should be planted firmly Verse 17
I love this wording "Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood i their end."
He heard the word of God. Today we need to hear the word of God and know the end of the fool. (Psalm 53:1)
What is their end, read Revelation20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
It does look at times that the foolish are having a good time, and just living it up, but remember this is the best they will experience or have.
Revelation 22:12 - And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be
We do have something better than this to look forward too!
They have nothing to look forward too!
Hell is real, the lake of fire is real, but thank God Jesus is real and still saves old sinners.

I SAMUEL 10:1-9                                  “THE FALL OF SAUL”

WHY DID A MAN WITH SO MUCH OF GOD IN HIS HEART FAIL SO MISERABLY?

* HE HAD THE RIGHT SPIRIT (VERSE 6)

Ephesians 5:18 - And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit ; SPIRIT FILLED WILL BE SPIRIT THRILLED CHRISTIANS

ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS TODAY IN THE CHURCH IS SAINTS NOT BEING IN THE RIGHT SPIRIT. SAUL STARTED RIGHT, JUST DID NOT END UP RIGHT.

* WITH GOD’S WILL IN HIS HEAD

Galatians 5:25 - If we live in the Spirit , let us also walk in the Spirit .

1 John 2:17 - And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever

* WITH GOD’S WORD IN HIS HEART

1 Thessalonians 5:19 - Quench not the Spirit .

Ephesians 6:6 - Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

Psalms 119:11 - Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

* HE HAD THE RIGHT STEPS

Psalms 37:23 - The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

1 John 1:6 - If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

* LOOK AT THE WAY HE WALK – HE START OUT GOOD

* LOOK AT WHERE HE WENT- SOME WHERE ALONG THE WAY HE WENT WRONG…SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE.

* HE HAD THE RIGHT SERVICE ( VERSE 7)

HE WAS WILLING AT THE START TO SERVE THE LORD, THINGS CHANGED SO MUCH IN HIS LIFE….WHEN GOLIATH CAME UP AGAINST ISREAL, HE SENT A YOUNG BOY OUT TO MEET HIM...LOOK AT WHAT HE LOST.

* HE WAS WILLING TO SERVE

Psalms 100:2 - Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

* HE WAS WILLING TO SURRENDER (WE SING THAT SONG “I SURRENDER ALL” BUT DO WE)

HE DID NOT SURRENDER ALL HIS LIFE, ALL HIS LOVE...BUT HE DID SURRENDER HIS LIBERTY.

* HE HAD THE RIGHT SEPARATION (TO GOD, FOR GOD’S WORK)

* HE WAS WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE (HE WENT TO THE WRONG PEOPLE IN I SAMUEL 28 A WITCH ENDOR)

* HE WAS IN THE RIGHT PLACE (IN WORSHIP- MANY ARE IN WICKEDNESS)

JEALOUSY AND ENVY!!!! PRIDE!!!! BROUGHT HIS FALL

PROVERBS 16:18

HE LOST HIS SPIRIT, SEEN THAT- IT’S LIKE THEY DRY UP ON THE VINE

HE LOST HIS STEPS , SEEN THAT- IT’S LIKE GOING THE THE RIGHT WAY ISN’T IMPORTANT ANY MORE

HE LOST HIS SERVICE, STOP SERVING GOD, AND YOU START SERVING THE DEVIL

HE LOST HIS SEPARATION, WRONG PASSION, WRONG PEOPLE, WRONG PLACE!!!!

EVERY THING HE HAD HE LOST....SO MANY USE TO HAVE IT. WHY DID HE FALL, HE FAILED TO KEEP WHAT HE ALREADY HAD.

2-1-2006 WED.

Genesis 25:19-34                     “Don’t let the devil steal what’s yours”

1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

Two boys grew Verse 27

One grew worldly (Esau) He wanted the earthly things.

One grew wickedly (Esau) He did not care for spiritual things

Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Jacob means supplanter (means someone who takes the place of someone else)

Jacob wasn’t out there trying to prove anything (plain man)

Isreal means (a prince of God) what a change!

* Don’t let him steal your blessings verse 30

Esau just wanted his belly full, it did not matter what he would have to pay to get it. Starvation does not come upon you suddenly…Maybe laziness was part of his problem.

* He sold out what was special

Luke 12:34 - For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Old time worship is special, many have let that go!

* He sold out what was sacred

He lost his values…Today the Church has lost it’s values, victory, and vision.

* He sold out what was spiritual

It meant nothing to him, a man with out faith can not please God!

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The natural man does not see the value in spiritual things, or spiritual life.

* Don’t let him steal your burden Verse 31

The birthright held a great honor. To have it meant you exercised priestly rights of the family, it was a great honor to carry! Esau did not see his need for it. Today many do not see their need of salvation. Today the church does not see a need of service!

* Lost our burden for the lost

Luke 19:10 - For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

* Lost our burden for the liberty of worship

Matthew 18:20 - For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

* Lost our burden for the love of the brethren

John 13:35 - By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another .

* Don’t let him steal your birthright

Many are willing to trade what is of great value for nothing!

Many trade a few moments pleasure for AIDS!

Many trade a wild fling for a bitter divorce!

Many trade a chance for eternal life for a ride with the Devil!

* You can lose your assurance in Jesus

John 3:7 - Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again .

* You can lose your abundance of joy (Read Genesis 27:36)

Don’t let the Devil steal what God wants to give you, an Eternal birthright with him!

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I Corinthians 15:1-4                               " What Easter gives us"           April 8, 2007

* Easter gives us a mission vrs 4

Luke 5:32

* To tell sinners

* To tell saints

Romans 14:11

* To tell somebody "He is alive"

Thank God he is alive!

Many today got ready for church, but are you ready to meet Christ?

Matthew 19:1-9             "The cause for marriage"

Marriage is no longer consider Sacrid, or special by some. People live together "Shack up" etc. In the eyes of God it is still Holy, Honored, and Heartfelt.

* Marriage is a holy union Vrs 4-5

* Holy in it's vows (spoken before God)

* Holy in it's virtues      ( See Hebrews 13:4 )

* Holy in it's venue

We have debated it in our courts, called it civil unions, cohabitation etc. It is still a Biblical term ordained by God. It is a divine institution see Genesis 2:18

* Marriage ia a honored union vrs 6

* Honor the Lord in the Music

* Honor the Lord in the method it is done

* Honor the Lord in the manner it is done

Before God.....Forsaking all others. It has a special meaning, and should be prayerfully considered.

see........... I Timothy 5:14

* Marriage is a heartfelt union Vrs 8-9

* Filled with love

Ephesian 5:25......I Corinthians 7:3

Love should be Expressed....Love should be encouraged. With out love it is wasted, and wrongfully pursued. Many enter into it very lightly.

* Filled with loyality

expressed in the ONE FLESH! One union, Mutual love, Mutual Affection. God ordained.
