Genesis 19:1-26                   “The Doom of delay”

Let us look at the life of Lot. There is a Lot in every Church, in every family.

Lot’s second problem was the fact he lingered. Lot’s first problem was turning away from the Lord. Read Genesis 13:10-13

We see his Doom, His Delay and his Destruction.

(Psalm 1:6)

* He lingered to long from the right path  verse 1

(Proverbs 3:6)

Think about your path. Which way are you now heading, and if you know you are in the wrong place…Why delay?

(Psalm 27:11)

* His will failed him

For the sake of his children he should have moved out of that wicked place.

* His witness failed him       read verse 14

His son in laws did not respect him; neither did the men of Sodom.

* His wisdom failed him

He thought Sodom was the place to be, He found out it was the last place any one should be.

He was looking by sight not by faith. Ref. II Corinthians 5:7

(Colossians 3:2)

* He lingered to long from the right people  verse 7

They were blind long before the Angels smote them.

* They were wicked people

Morally sick and perverted, acting on lust and degradation.

(Leviticus 18:22)

(Jude 7)

* They were worldly people

(II Corinthians 6:14)

(Ephesians 5:11)

* They were weak people

Blinded by sin= If the blind lead the blind, both fall into the ditch.

(Romans 6:12)

* He lingered to long from the right place  verse 12

Lost his Family, lost his Fortunes.

Many today are in the same predicament, to long in anger, to long in jealousy.

* The alter was forsaken

The place of Fellowship, The place of faith was forsaken.

(Romans 3:16)

* The atonement was forgotten

The past is where some are lingering in, some it is some problem. Many forget that Salvation set us free!

* The Almighty was Faithful

Could not find ten righteous in Sodom, but he still saved Lot!

God warned them, now he warns us.

Get out of this world! Get Saved!
