ACTS 28:17-24                                   “THE PROBLEM WITH SOME”

Paul preached this message while he was under house arrest.

Acts 28:24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

Same problem today as it was in Paul’s day …Some just do not believe!

* Some are still searching (not sure, not standing firm)

I'm glad i'm not searching for him, i found out he was searching for me!

Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me , when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

* Searching for a purpose (We do have a purpose in life = Worship God)

* Searching for peace (peace isn’t in a bottle) 

Looking in all the wrong places, they Look to all the wrong people! Religion has blinded many to the point of not seeing.

Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me .

Looking for something? Can’t find it in religion, but in relationship with Christ!

* Some are still silent

Many in that crowd just did not say anything, they kept silent.

They silently walk away from God’s man, God’s message of salvation, and God’s miracle of salvation.

* No Prayer

Proverbs 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous

No atheist in fox holes…..If it isn’t from the heart it is not real!

Psalms 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me :

The saints have a wonderful position in knowing he hears our prayer.

Matthew 21:22 - And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer , believing, ye shall receive .  

* No Praise

Psalms 115:17 The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence . 

* Some are still straying (Some just walked away!)

*From the sure way

Psalm 34:14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it

*From the straight way

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way , which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it

* Some are still suffering

* In sin (sin will cost you more than you want to pay)

How many lives have been taken by sin? Drunk drivers, drug users, and diseased bodies all have the marks of sin on them .

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God;  

* In shame

The shame of how many souls walk away from Jesus

John 5:40 And ye will not come to me , that ye might have life.

* Some are still scornful

Luke 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

Yes some mocked him! They will mock you too, but some believed!

* They reject the saviour

They feel like it must be another way… Some work, or some kind of ritual.

* They refuse Salvation (They do not walk out on the Church, but on Christ)

For the sake of the few, he kept right on preaching the gospel.

Psalm 53:2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

Some do! Some will not…..Sadly for those the lake of fire is there eternal home!

We can not reach all of them, but we can reach some for the glory of God!
