Matthew 28:1-8 "The thrill of an empty tomb"
The thrill is not new clothes, but new life. As we look back some 2000 years ago it was not just a new day dawning , but a new era....The thrill to know he is alive.
* An empty tomb gives us a full heart
Wouldn't it be nice to see Christians today with a thrill. Today we see people thrilled about every thing but the LORD!
The thrill of shopping.
The thrill of sports.
The thrill of sleep.
* Full of devotion
Jesus came up over death. The Church should not be a dead place.
* Full of delight
Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
You do not have to go to the holy land to have this thrill.
You do not have to see the empty tomb to know this thrill.
* Full of direction
Jesus will set your feet in the right direction.
* An empty tomb gives us a future hope
The great thrill is not the fact Jesus died, many have died. The thrill is the fact Jesus died, and now lives.
Because he lives...I can face tomorrow.
John 11:25 "Yet shall he live"
Luke 20:38
He is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for all live unto him.
* We have a place
John 14:1-6
* We have a pardon
Jesus signed my pardon. I was guilty and now the judge became my defense attorney.
* We have a promise
He is coming back for his bride. What a thrill.
* An empty tomb gives us a friend in heaven
John 10:17
* Seated on high
He is now back where he was before he took on flesh, before he took our sin payment. What a thrill...Jesus will never have to endure the awful agony of the cross again.
* Stands to help
Acts 7: Read about Stephen's vision
When i need him, he is always there. (Psalm 121:1-2)
* See's it all
Proverbs 15:3
