Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
* They forgot they were free
It could have been worse; they forgot the brutal beatings of slavery. The bondage that Egypt brought upon them and their children. Now free to worship, walk and witness.
* How soon they fainted Verse 14
Egypt was a type of the world, and they wanted to return to slavery. I was a slave to sin, but JESUS!
(ROMANS 6:1-2)
* They enjoyed a fleshly satisfaction
They danced the devils dance when Moses was on the mountain with God.
The golden calf shows how quickly the people of God can turn from God!
I John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
They would rather be a slave to sin. Many today do not go to Church, or worship God because they would rather be somewhere else!
The world has nothing to offer those who walk with God!
* They enjoyed a false security Verse 15
We are the children of Israel. Seed of Abraham! Means nothing when you doubt God’s power, and salvation!
Today they stand on being a Baptist, that isn’t enough!
Today they stand on religion, that isn’t enough!
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
* They soon failed Verse 15
A whole generation died in the wilderness not seeing the land of promise. Only two men of faith went over into the promise land, Joshua and Caleb, not because they were rich or had any great merit in themselves, they just believed God!
Psalm 4:21
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
* They doubted
After seeing all God had done they still did not believe!
* They died
40 years of waste, a generation died and was buried. Today God may send leanness into our souls if we forget what God has done, what God is going to do, and where he has brought us from.
Don’t live with leanness, live with liberty.
