"See, I have set before you today life and good, death
and evil" -Duet. 30:15
Choices! You have already had to make several today:
what you would wear, what to have for lunch, and the list goes on and
on. But God has set before you life and death, salvation or
damnation, heaven or hell, joy or misery, peace or distress, and the
list goes on and on. So which have you chosen? If you haven't
already, I encourage you to choose Jesus. Maybe you already
have but just need to redirect the focus of your life with that
rededicating yourself to that choice. Oh, yeah, those of you who
have the choice, choose to be in the church of your choice tonight!

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art GOD.
Thou turnest man to destruction and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath; we spend our years as a tale that is told. -Psm.90:1-14
I spoke on this passage last Wed. evening. It deals with the fact that
life is short and often filled with woe. You may have already realized
that today is the last day of May. Can you believe it? Is it just me or
has this year seem to be flying by? Don't just thank God that it's
Friday, thank Him that it is another day that you have to enjoy Him,
your family, and all the others blessing in your life. Remember: Life is
short - ENJOY IT!!:-) |

Ephesians 4:1 tells us to "walk worthy of the calling with which you
were called".
I want to encourage you on this Monday to "walk" like
a Christian should. It doesn't matter your circumstances or mood,
you are to "walk" or live in a way that brings glory to God.

In the '90's there was a song called "I Want To Be Rich", some of you may remember.
Regardless, this is probably a wish that all of us have had from time to time. Well,
today let me give you the secret of wealth. Prov.10:22 says "The blessing of the Lord
makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it." There are plenty of rich folk, but how
many of them can claim to have riches without sorrow attached? Very few! In Prov.8:18&19
we find out that riches and honor come with wisdom and that the fruit of wisdom is in
fact better than gold. To put it plain seek wisdom, and the Bible says that whoever lacks
wisdom can ask of God and he shall give it. Seek wisdom and the blessings of God or as
Jesus put it "Seek first the kindom of God and His righteousness and all these other
things shall be added unto you."

In Nahum 1:7 the Bible says "The Lord is good," it continues "And He knows those who
trust in Him." That's a double barrel of good news. First, God is good. Secondly, he
knows those who trust in Him. If you are trusting in Him, though others may not see
it or even care, He does. And because of your trust and His goodness, everything is
going to workout for you.

Gen. 1:9 "...and Noah walked with God." Noah lived in what must have been the most
wicked time in history. B/C of the wickedness of man God destroyed civilization by
a world wide flood. Yet, in the midst of this wickedness Noah walked with God. Understand
today that it doesn't matter how wicked those around you live, you can still have a
vibrant relationship with God. Because of this relationship Noah and his family were
saved from the flood. The question is will you do the same?

I John 3:2a "Beloved, now are we the sons of God..." If you have
accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior you are now a son of
God. You aren't on a journey to become a son, you ARE a son.
That's good news on this Monday, you and I as Christians are
children of God. There's is no better thing to be and nothing that
brings more hope and blessing to be just that: A Son/Daughter of
God!

Psm.100:2 "Serve the Lord with gladness" According to The
American Heritage "Glad or Gladness" means Feeling, showing, or
giving joy and pleasure; happy. Pleased; willing.
Does that characterize your walk with the Lord? Today I challenge
you to live for the Lord with joy and happiness. Let everyone around
you know that you are living with a special sense or feeling of
pleasure living for Jesus Christ.

Psm.61: "So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily
perform my vows." Did you catch the connection b/w singing praise
and being able to perform our vows. Maybe you need to sing while
you work!! Perhaps the only way your being able to perform your
work duties is to continually sing praise unto Him knowing that your
doing it "as unto the Lord." Or maybe in regards to your relationship
with God you need to consistantly sing praise unto God to keep your
mind on the things of God that you may be able to perform your
Christian vows.

Psm.33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord..."
Here in
the U.S. our money says "In God We Trust" and after the attacks of
last Sept. there was a revival of the prayer "God Bless America".
Yet, one of the courts of our land says it's unconstitutional to pledge
that we are one nation "Under God". In reality blessed means
'happy', do you think we are a happy nation? I mean some of the
business practices of some of our larger coperations have caused
distrust and thus affected the stock market, large portions of our
nation are facing severe forest fires, others are dealing with extreme
drought conditions, and we've all been told to be on alert over the
holiday next week for terrorist attacks! Doesn't seem like a happy
nation to me:-( Perphaps it's b/c God is not Lord of our nation.
Please pray today that we as individuals, churches, cities, states
and as a nation will make God our Lord!

Hebrews 13:19 "I especially need your prayers right now.."
Do you realize that on this Fri. afternoon someone especially needs your
prayers? There are those requests listed below and others that you
personally know of. During your prayer time today ask God to place
on your mind someone who ESPECIALLY needs your prayers and
fervently lift them up to Him.
