News From The Well

November 2008

Harvest Fund Sunday

Our annual Harvest Fund Offering will be received on

Sunday, November 2. This annual offering is a tradition of Shallow Well, an opportunity to give thanks to God for all His blessings upon us during the past year. This year the Stewardship Finance Committee will make a decision whether to use this offering for our General Fund, since our offerings this year have been under budget and we have spent out about $11,000 more than we have taken in, or if giving to the General Fund improves we will use the offering for our Building Fund. In any case we hope you will pray for God's will for your gift and its use.

Small Group Experiences

We are currently working on organizing some small groups that would meet on a regular basis for sharing, fellowship, etc. Groups could be organized around special interests of members. Pastor Stephen is working on this and would appreciate your assistance in organizing these groups. If you are interested in a group please pass that on to Stephen. We are hoping some of these groups begin meeting soon.

Community Thanksgiving Service

Our annual Jonesboro Community Thanksgiving Service will be held on Wednesday evening, November 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Presbyterian Church. Rev. Mark Gaskins of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church will deliver the evening message, while the other pastors will lead various parts of the service. We hope you will plan to attend and enjoy the fellowship time following the service.

Christmas is just around the corner, so starting the first Sunday of this month, the youth and children will be preparing for our Christmas play. During youth meetings on Sunday we plan to spend about 45 minutes practicing and the other 45 minutes will consist of our usual Bible study, crafts, and games. Make sure you plan to be at our play on December 14. There is even a rumor we might be having a special visitor.
