Music (to fade)

Satan: Hello, and welcome to Temptation Island. I’m your host, Satan. This week the women are tempting their men. Let’s find out what’s going on with our first couple, Adam and Eve.

Eve: Here Adam, I got this apple for you. It’s from the Tree of Knowledge.

Adam: Eve, God said not to take any fruit off that tree. He’s going to be very mad when he finds out!

Eve: How’s God going to know? No one saw me take it. Besides, just think of what we’ll know!

Adam: Eve, I don’t think it’s a good idea. God knows everything.

Eve: And we’ll know everything too. Just take a bite.

Adam: We have so many other apple trees around here. Why did you have to pick that one?

Eve: Because, I think we should be able to know what God knows. And I’m sure these are far more delicious than any old apple tree. Here, I’ll take the first bite and then you take the next. It won’t hurt you!

Satan: Let’s hear what’s going on with our second couple, Joseph and Pontiphar’s wife.

Joseph: I told you once, and I’ll tell you again. I’m not going to sleep with you!

Wife: But Joseph, you are so strong and handsome, and I am so beautiful and the wife of a powerful man. You cannot resist me.

Joseph: Oh, yes I can. You are my master’s wife, and I will not go against him or God. It is a sin to covet another man’s wife.

Wife: Joseph, dear, no one will know. I’ll get the servants to leave the house so no one can hear us. It’ll be our little secret!

Joseph: I said, no! And I mean it!

Satan: Now onto our third couple, Samson and Delilah. Let’s find out what they’re saying.

Delilah: Samson, you are so strong, I’m sure nothing could ever make you weak.

Samson: To tell you the truth Delilah, I do have one weakness.

Delilah: (To herself) It can’t possibly be true! (To Samson) Oh, Samson, please tell me the secret of your strength. You can trust me.

Samson: No one knows but my parents and me. I do love you, Delilah, but I just can’t tell you.

Delilah: But Samson, I won’t tell a single soul! I promise. I wouldn’t do a think to hurt you.

Samson: I know you wouldn’t hurt me, but I promised God that I would not reveal my weakness to anyone.

Delilah: Samson, trust me. I won’t tell one person. It’ll be just between you and me.

(News Break & Salvation Soap Commercial)

(Couples get together in a group with Satan sitting to the side. Jesus moves closer.)

Satan: Welcome back. Now it’s time to find out what happened to each of our couples and then they’ll vote on which couple should be banished from the island. Let’s start with Eve and Adam. What happened to you?

Adam: Well, Eve was tempting me with the apple from the Tree of Knowledge. She took a bite and then I took one. The apple was very good I’ll have to admit.

Eve: Then we realized we were naked. So we got some fig leaves and covered ourselves.

Satan: Then what happened?

(Adam and Eve look at each other, hold hands and look down in shame)

Adam: God came to look for us. He knew what we had done. When he found us he told we were to be punished. He told me that I would have to work hard to do any farming since the ground would be hard to sow.

Satan: That’s terrible! How could he do such a thing?

Eve: And he told me that childbirth would be very painful for me.

Satan: What?! That’s outrageous! I know I would never give such punishment!

Eve: At least that snake got punished too for tricking me. He’ll be slithering on his belly for all eternity!

Satan: I thought God was supposed to be a good guy. It sounds to me that he was pretty mean to you. Yeah, so you made one mistake. Did he have to punish you like that?! Well, let’s hear what happened to our second couple, Joseph and Pontiphar’s wife. Joseph, you start.

(Joseph looks at the wife in disgust.)

Joseph: This woman here is evil. She was trying to get me to sleep with her. She’s married to my master. Well, one day I came into the house since I was in charge and my master was gone. All the servants were gone too, so it was just her and me.

Satan: Then what happened?

Joseph: She asked me again to go to bed with her. But I refused. She grabbed onto my garment and I ran out of the house.

Wife: You liar! You left it there!

Joseph: Next thing I know, I’m arrested. It seems as though she told the servants and her husband, Ponitphar, that I had raped her. It’s all a lie. She’s not telling the truth at all. And so I get punished for it.

Wife: I don’t think so buddy. I have the proof. I have your garment.

Joseph: Yeah, the garment you tore off of me. You’re so conniving.

Satan: I like her! So, Joseph, what you’re saying is that you didn’t turn from God?

Joseph: That’s right!

Satan: I can’t believe that. What man could resist this beautiful woman? Well, let’s move on. Samson and Delilah. Samson, what happened to you? You hair is shorter and it looks like you were blinded.

Samson: Your right, Satan. I told Delilah my secret; my long hair was my strength. She got me to sleep and then she cut off my hair! She told my enemies to come get me. Since I was weak, I could fight them off. I was helpless. God had left me.

Satan: God left you? Isn’t he supposed to always be with you? So far, God doesn’t sound like he’s very forgiving. Delilah, you’re my type of girl! How evil of you to do such a thing to the man you love.

Delilah: I feel terrible, Satan. I didn’t know that they were going to hurt them. Samson, please forgive me.

Samson: How can I forgive you? You told me I could trust you, but you betrayed me because you wanted the money from the five Philistine kings.

Delilah: I know I was selfish and greedy. I’ve very sorry. I wish I hadn’t done it.

Samson: I loved you, Delilah. I just can’t understand why you did such a thing to me.

(Delilah begins to cry and hangs her head.)

(News Break)

Satan: Welcome back. Now it’s time to see which one of our couples will be voted off the island. Will it be Adam and Eve, Joseph and Pontiphar’s wife, or Samson and Delilah?

Jesus: (Walks down to the stage.) Just a minute, Satan.

Satan: What are you doing here, Jesus?

Jesus: I want you to stop this.

Satan: Stop what?

Jesus: Satan, I know what you’re trying to do. You’re trying to see who has done wrong and why my father has forsaken them. But you’re wrong, Satan. My father has not forsaken them. He has always been with them. You see, each of these couples have committed sin, but my father forgives sinners.

Satan: It doesn’t seem that way to me. He punished all these people.

Jesus: Yes, he did. But he also forgave them.

Satan: (To the couples) Are you going to believe this man? The Son of God? The God that has forgotten you, punished you, forsaken you? Come with me. I can make you lives better. I won’t punish you. I won’t forget you. I’ll give you everything you want and need.

Jesus: (To the couples) But I will give you eternal life. Come with me and I will give you everything. I will baptize you and your sins will be forgiven.

Satan: Okay, Jesus. I’ll make you a deal. You go out into the wilderness for forty days. If you cannot resist my temptations, I get to have these people. If you do resist them, then they can go with you.

Jesus: I have already told you, but you would not believe me. The deeds I do by my Father’s authority speak on my behalf; but you will not believe, for you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never die. No one can snatch them away from me. What my Father has given me is greater than everything, and no one can snatch them away from the Father’s care. The Father and I are one. (To the couples) Come, follow me.

(Couples get up and follow Jesus out.)

Satan: Hey, come back here! This isn’t how it’s supposed to be. Don’t follow that man. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I’ll give you everything; money, jewels, food, anything, just name it. Stop! Come back here! (Notices the show is still going and gathers his composure.) Oh, um, well, turn in next week when we’ll have three new couples on Temptation Island.
