New Church Structure & Meetings Notes from Annual Meeting - January 2011 After we had approved the minutes of last year’s meeting, Pastor David Jadlocki reviewed his time with us. Both he and Moderator Alan Smith saw 2010 as a time of productive transition. The most exciting and profound change studied and proposed is governance by smaller committees and shorter-term, task-oriented involvement by more of the members of our congregation.
All of us had an opportunity to learn about the new system in worship and in discussion with Pastor Dave and the members of the Church Council. Everyone completing his or her homework made the agreement to test out our new system easy to pass. We also agreed to suspend the parts of our current Bylaws describing our current system for one year. At that time, we’ll review the new system....
Another innovation agreed upon was to hold three congregational meetings throughout the year.
We now have a new Mission Statement, a revised Membership requirement, and a revised section of the working committees of our church. Some of the revisions were immediately suspended while we try out our new governance system. Government of any size gets complicated!...
The Council will meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m.

May 2011 - Update on New Church Structure We are well into implementing the new organizational structure that was approved at our Annual Meeting in January. The bulletin board in the Round Room shows the ministry opportunities and the names of those who have volunteered for them. This is an interesting time for us, a time of change, a time for growing and stretching our abilities and our faith. And what better time to do that than spring, the season of new growth?
We are seeing people volunteer for new ministries, and I am one of them. In the past I have not been involved in planning for worship, and I am being helped by Pastor David and Cyndie D'Andrea as we go along. It has given me a new way of looking at the details of Sunday morning worship. I encourage everyone to try something new; you may find new meaning in your faith life.
