Mont Vernon Congregational Church, U.C.C.

Person-to-Person Outreach

The Outreach Committee (previously called Growth and Evengelism) is on a path of person-to-person outreach.  Here are some of the things we do:

  • We sponsor the monthly Fellowship Circles, where timely topics are discussed in a casual and friendly forum.
  • We keep our church members and the community informed about our congregation via the "Did You Know" interviews published in our church newsletter.
  • We are committed to keeping our church website www.montvernonchurch.org updated and current.
  • We keep our church brochure and directory updated so current information is available.
  • We work with area churches to support the homeless and the needy via the Greater Nashua Interfaith Hospitality Network (i.e. Anne Marie house) and we encourage outreach to other groups including the Salvation Army, Nashua Soup Kitchen and Bridges so that our everyone in our community can get personally involved in helping others in need.

Update: Our committee has had a busy spring. We planned and hosted a half day retreat at the Church on April 26. It was attended by eleven participants and Graham. We had Bible study, prayers, discussion and a hymn together. Our committee has been staying in touch with members who have not been attending church recently by sending notes to them. We also have been contacting visitors who sign the guest book. Jane Nilles has been doing preliminary work on getting a professional kitchen designer to plan a renovation to our kitchen, the plan to be presented to the Council. We hope we will be able to move forward with that. We have put a lot of time and thought into our newsletter: making it more interesting, attractive and informative. We made a new schedule and suggested a new format. That has been implemented and we will continue to make improvements. Our next project is to look at our literature in the narthex and review and revise it.
