OUR CHURCH HERITAGE

The First Baptist Church of Woodstown was constituted in 1822. It has a long history of serving God and ministering to the Woodstown community and throughout the world. We are affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey (ABCNJ) and the American Baptist Churches of United States of America (ABC-USA). The ABC-USA is a denomination made up of about 6,000 churches who affirm the centrality of the Scripture, believe strongly in missions, and believe that all Christians are called to be involved in the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (the Priesthood of All Believers). Because we believe that God equips each church sufficiently to do ministry in the way God leads it (local autonomy), we tend to be a theologically diverse denomination. We do profess our faith through the ordinances of the Lord's Supper and Believer's Baptism.
