Trinity Episcopal Church in Moorestown, New Jersey

WELCOME, VISITORS AND NEWCOMERS

We extend a warm welcome to all visitors who are worshiping with us.  We are happy to have you among us!  We hope you will enter fully into worship by joining in the prayers, responses and hymns.  Feel free to ask the assistance of those around you in following and participating in the liturgy. Whether you are visiting or are in search of a church home, please join us for punch in the Cloister Garden after the 10 o'clock service.  Please sign the guest register in the Tower Entrance so that we may have a record of your visit.

NURSERY CARE

There is nursery care for infants to two-year-olds during the 9:00 am service.

Volunteers are needed to help in the nursery, lead chapel and help with extra care after the 9:00 a.m. service.  Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board in the old kitchen.

The Day of Pentecost - May 27

Sunday, May 27, is the Day of Pentecost, otherwise known as Whitsunday.  The third major festival of the church year (after Easter and Christmas), Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit to the disciples, as they were gathered together in Jerusalem, fifty days after Easter.  The Book of Acts relates that the Holy Spirit filled the room where they were with the sound of a rushing mighty wind, and tongues of fire descended on the heads of those assembled.  RED is the liturgical color of the day, and so everyone is asked to wear some article of red clothing to church.   The Gospel will be read in different languages to emphasize the speaking in tongues which occurred on that day. Join us in the Parish Hall at 10:15 a.m. for a Pentecost Family Festival.  There will be a Pentecost cake, too! The choir will sing the ususal festive hymns and anthems of the Pentecost Feast.

PLEASE HELP THE CHURCH OFFICE!

There are over thirty commissions, committees, and groups at Trinity.  This plea is for members of Trinity Commissions (such as Lay Readers, Altar Guild, Flower Guild, etc.) who are scheduled for specific times to be "on duty." If you cannot fulfill your obligation for a certain time or date, please arrange for a substitute.  Do NOT expect the staff in the church office to find someone to take your place.  While no one task individually requires much time to accomplish, collectively they can contribute to a "hectic day at the office." The staff always is happy to help and support the commissions, but we need you to do your part, too!

COFFEE HOUR HOSTS NEEDED!

Time to sign up to host Coffee Hour. Please consider signing up to host a coffee hour. Directions on how to set up and make the coffee are posted on the freezer in the kitchen. If you have never done it before, we will be happy to show you how! Thank you to the many hosts who have served coffee this past year. A sign up sheet is in the Parish Hall.

OUTREACH FOR SACRED HEART SCHOOL

Outreach envelopes are back in the pews and we are hoping to send a substantial donation with your help to Sacred Heart School in Camden. This parish-run school is devoted to helping low-income families provide their children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grades with a good education in a safe environment.  Please use the envelopes to help Sacred Heart continue in their quest to show their students that there are people who care and who want to help.  If you would like to sponsor a child, please contact Janet Murray or check the Outreach bulletin board for more information.

SENIOR HIGH DISCUSSION GROUP

A discussion group for Senior High School students will be held on Sunday mornings from now until June 10 at 10:15 a.m. in the Reception Room.  Our youth leader, Ashely Trost, will be the facilitator of the group.  All high school age persons are welcome.

Gluten-free Communion Wafers

If you have a food sensitivity that requires a gluten-free communion wafer, simply mention that to the clergy person administering communion. They will signal for the receptacle containing gluten-free hosts to be brought to you, and you may help yourself to a host (to avoid cross- contamination). You may either intinct or drink from the common chalice. For those who have difficulty approaching the communion stations, you have the option of receiving communion in your seat. If you would like one of our clergy to bring the Sacrament to you in your seat, please notify an usher, or ask a parishioner seated near you to notify an usher for you.

Casseroles needed

We need to restock our freezer. We have been busy giving out meals to our shut-ins and parishioners coming home from the hospital. Stews and soups are always good along with meat and noodle casseroles. We also need them in varying sizes to feed one or two as well as up to four family members. As always thank you for supplying these items to help with this ongoing ministry.
