Can anyone be sure that they are going to heaven?

YES!

1John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

A popular view that says, "If our good out weighs our bad then God lets us into heaven". However, God doesn't leave us "hanging" wondering if we have done enough good to earn a place in Heaven.

Actually, God has taken the guess work out of it.

  • Let's start with a bit of bad news.

    Romans 3:10 As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;
    (NIV)

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.(NIV)

Isaiah 64:6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
    (NIV)

This paints a pretty bleak picture of how good we really are.

  • Because we don't live up to God's Standard of goodness there is a separation between us and Him.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    (NIV)

Revelation 20:14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
    (NIV)

Death is a separation. Physical death is the soul separating from the physical body. Spiritual death is the soul being forever separated from the presence of God. That separation can only happen when ones soul is delivdered into Hell.

  • This Good News is that we do not have to experience an eternal separation from God.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.(NIV)

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
    (NIV)

Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
    (NIV)

  • What then can we do?

Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

    You can pray:

    * Admit to God that you are a sinner.

    * Ask Him to for give you of your sin

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
    (NIV)

    * Ask Him for forgiveness and then be willing to make Him the Lord (Boss) of your life.

If you can tell Him these things and really mean it from your heart we have his promise that he will save you.

Romans 10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
  • If you have done this we would love to share in your joy. We would also love to help you in your new found life in Christ. Please use the "Contact us" button to your left to let us know that this great event has taken place in your heart.
