There have been many changes made down through the course of man’s history, but there is a significant change which is about to be made that shall eclipse all those previous changes. I am not referring particularly to those changes that have occurred in man’s environment or surroundings, but with and within man himself. Of course as I speak concerning “man” I am in no way inferring that this change shall not involve the women folk as well. Mankind has been in the process of change ever since he was first formed out of the dust of the ground. In fact, we have been made subject into a realm of change. But beyond all the changes that have been made, and those which are yet to be made, there is a realm, or should we say, state of being, if you will, where there shall be no more changes.
Changes are coming not only to all of mankind, but to all the surrounding world and cosmos in which we live. All of creation has undergone many tremendous changes since it was brought into the visible existence it is in at present. There are those who would like to do away with all the visible creation altogether, being under the assumption and impression that all visible matter is somehow a colossal mistake. Using such scripture as 2nd Corinthians 4:18 as a basis for that line of thought. “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
At first glance it would certainly appear that this scripture suggests that all the seen realm, or the visible existence of things are not enduring, but are only temporary. However, what shall we do with scriptures such as Isaiah 45:18? “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.”
Are these passages of scripture pitted one against the other, do they somehow contradict each other? Of course not. What were the “things” that the apostle Paul referred to in his second letter to the Corinthians? He was just talking about those things which were being used in the process of bringing about our change; namely, our “light afflictions” which were working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Those things which were bringing about an end, and perishing of our outward man, so that the inner man could be brought forth, manifested and revealed. We were instructed not to look, or fasten our gaze upon those “things” which were seen, and cherish them, or hold on to them, but to turn our gaze rather upon those invisible eternal things which were being wrought in us. There are certain things which are to perish, and those things all pertain to that of the outward man of the Adamic nature. Our light afflictions, the pain and suffering endured in these earthen bodies are not worthy to be compared with those eternal things which we are being renewed into in Christ. All are but the birth pangs of dying to one state of being and being birthed into another state of being. The death to the outer man of the first Adam, and the re-birthing back into the second Man Adam, our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are very near that wonderful place that the Lord prepared for us in Himself. We have followed Him, being made conformable unto His death, dying to the self- life and self-will of the first Adam. We have followed our Lord into the garden of Gethsemane, and poured out our soul there with Him, we have walked with Him up the rocky slopes of Golgotha’s hill bearing our cross. We have died with Him on the cruel cross of Calvary. These have been those things which Paul mentioned as being our “light afflictions!” But, beyond the cross we have gone with our Lord into the dark and cold tomb, laid out upon the cold slab of rock. Dead! Dead indeed to sin! Dead to Adam. This is where we found our freedom from sin. Yes, this is where we were “planted together in the likeness of His death,…” “Light afflictions!” And because we have followed Him, coming to know Him in the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death; we have now begin to know Him in the power of His resurrection. It is when every vestige of the self-life of the outer man has perished completely that the life of the Inner Man (Christ) shall be revealed and manifested. In the measure that the old has perished, the New shall be revealed. Change? Yes, we are being changed, being renewed day by day. Restored, re-established, returned; however you would like to put it, CHANGED! Putting off the old man, putting on the New Man. Being completely unclothed of the old man, and his tattered garments so that we may become clothed upon with the New Man! Glory to God.
But what about that place where there shall be no more change? Is there such a place? The scriptures declare; “And God shall wipe away ALL tears from their/our eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be any more pain: for the former THINGS are passed away.” Revelation 21:4.
There shall come that time for us in God when all those “former things” which Paul told us not to look at, shall utterly and completely “pass away” to be no more! All those unseen tears and sorrow and crying we have endured with the pain and sufferings shall be no more! No more death! No more change?! Yes! For “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His People, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God!” Yes, that Place in Him where there shall be no more change. “For I Am the Lord, I change NOT;…” MalachI 3:6.
Furthermore, what is to become of the rest of visible creation? Shall it not also undergoing a change as well? Shall this visible creation of things pass away and be no more? Shall everything ultimately disappear once again back beyond the veil into the realm of invisibility? Or, has God, The Author and Originator and Creator of ALL THINGS, ordained that the whole realm and dimension of the visible creation remain? There are some who believe that there shall be an end of all the realm of the visible, and it shall ultimately be swallowed up back into the realm and dimension of invisibility. There are those who are persuaded that this whole visible realm and dimension is but a product of the Adamic mind?! That God never really created anything in this visible dimension?! They are persuaded that because God Himself is invisible, that ultimately all the realm of the visible shall return to invisibility in Him.(?) They are saying that somehow the visible realm and dimension is only a corruptible and inferior realm, and therefore only temporary, and will pass away and return once again into invisibility.(?) But, I will ask my question once again. Has God determined that the physical, visible realm and dimension undergo a change, and therefore come into the glorious liberty of the children of God?!
Was the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ shed for ALL of creation? Did He die to reconcile ALL of creation back into union and oneness in God? If we may be permitted to expand upon this thought a little more, let us realize that our full salvation is involved, and is joined with the salvation and restoration of ALL of creation. Have you considered that the sin and death problem has not been limited to the realm of human beings alone, or to the realm of the visible, but it has been a problem that has permeated all of creation, including the inanimate things as well as the animate. Since creation is also not just limited to the visible realm and dimension alone, there are even unseen, invisible parts of creation which are also going to be effected in this SO GREAT A SALVATION.
I remember some time back reading an article written by brother Preston Eby concerning the wonderful “interface” of heaven and earth. He mentioned the garden of Eden as being such a place where heaven and earth overlap, intermingle, and meet together to become an interface of both realms and dimensions. A place where the invisible and the visible realms and dimensions kiss each other and became one in union with each other. And also to use the wording of brother Bob Torango, such a place would be a “compounding” of both the realm of the visible and the invisible. But, what has the scriptures said about this? When our Lord was instructing His disciples in the manner of prayer, He said; “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven…” Shall not this manner of prayer be answered? “Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done IN EARTH, and it is IN HEAVEN.” An interfacing of heaven with earth, the invisible with the visible! I will go a step more to say, an interfacing and compounding of the spiritual with the natural! Please hear me, when I use the term “natural” I am not implying the natural in the sense of being sinful and corruptible and filled with the curse of death. The natural realm I am speaking of is that physical, visible, natural realm redeemed and made holy through the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ. The realm of the natural and physical realm which has undergone the change and been brought into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
What wonders are yet to be revealed as we move forward into our journey back home into our Father’s dominion and kingdom. Just as there has been provided for us a complete salvation for us spirit, soul and body, that completeness involves bringing into union ALL THINGS back into the wonderful harmony and character and nature of God our Father. What we have talked about in ourselves as being a tripartite being, consisting of spirit, soul and body shall no longer be separated, and fragmented but shall be merged into one whole being in Christ functioning in perfect union and harmony in both realms of the invisible and the visible. What wonders yet to be revealed and made known to us who are partakers of such a precious salvation secured for us by our Lord Jesus Christ!
Yes, we are being changed. Changed to be the vessel, the vehicle, the entity, the Son of God who shall walk freely in both worlds of the invisible and the visible, the heavenly and the earthy. I see the Old Testament Tabernacle of Moses not only as being a type and shadow of our being, spirit, soul and body; the outer court, the holy place and the Most holy place; but as also being a type and shadow of the microcosm that we are in our being, and also of the macrocosm of the greatness of all that God IS in Himself. And we shall walk IN HIM! And He shall walk IN US! And we shall walk TOGETHER IN ONENESS! Hallelujah! And we shall walk and abide in that eternal NOW in Him where there will be no more change! Oh! I want to go home! How about you?
