IS HELL THE LAKE OF FIRE?
O ne of the most misunderstood religious beliefs promoted in most churches concerns the place where people are told they are going to spend eternity if they fail to live right here on earth. People are told that the moment their heart stops beating, their destiny is eternally sealed. They are told that if they have lived a sinner’s life here on earth, the moment they die they will immediately go straight to hell and spend eternity there. Unfortunately their story doesn’t end there, for people are also told that when they go to hell they can expect to suffer untold agony in a lake of fire and brimstone. They are told that the Devil and his demons will be there to inflict pain and suffering throughout the endless ages of eternity.
If a person happens to attend one of those churches where they preach their “hell-fire and brimstone” message, and if that person happens to be a sinner, they will probably find themselves squirming in their seats. If the preacher happens to know that person is a sinner, he (or she), will do their best to scare the hell out of that person. That person may have come to church to try to find peace and maybe even try to turn their life around; but chances are, that person will be grilled over the fires of hell first, and then told how big a sinner they are. This type of thing has happened over and over again, and the person is now left with a heavy load of gilt and self-condemnation to bear.
There are many Christian people today who have taken the teachings of their particular denominational church as being the ‘Gospel Truth’ without taking the time to search out those teachings and verify them by reading the Bible and seeking God for themselves. Another horrible teaching found in so many of the denominational churches is, that the people are told they cannot hear from God for themselves, but they must receive from God through their pastor or priest. This writer will guarantee you that if you were to take this message to your pastor or priest they will tell you – “throw that garbage in the trash, for it is false teaching.” So, hopefully, this writing will find itself in the hands of those who are brave enough to think for themselves, rather than letting their pastor or priest do the thinking for them. Shall we look into the Bible together and read what it says?
Rev 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Doesn’t sound too good does it? And yet, what are we reading here, and just who are those people who are being “cast” into this “lake of fire,” and besides that; just what is the “lake of fire?” Don’t you think you deserve a correct answer? We trust to be able to help you find that answer as we continue in this message.
There have been numerous sermons preached over the years about this “lake of fire,” and most of those sermons have instilled fear and dread into the hearts of those who heard their message. Most of what the people have been taught in the institutionalized churches today is; that if they happen to be a candidate of being cast into this “lake of fire and brimstone,” they will most assuredly never come out of it! Traditional church theology tells the people that the “lake of fire and brimstone” is that place where sinners, and such, are cast in order to be tormented throughout all eternity! Most in Christendom have been taught over the years that the “lake of fire and brimstone” is the place described as being “hell.”
Is the “lake of fire and brimstone” the place that so many preachers describe as being “hell?” Is the “lake of fire and brimstone” and “hell” one and the same place? To the amazement of many Christians who dare to read the scriptures for themselves, they will find that the “lake of fire” is indeed NOT the “hell” that the preachers have described to them. Let us hear the truth right straight from the Bible, shall we?
Rev 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
Now it doesn’t cause a lot of strain on the mind of anyone to understand what this verse of scripture is telling us. It is written clearly enough that anyone who reads may understand. The “lake of fire and brimstone” cannot be “hell” for one of the things that was cast into the “lake of fire and brimstone” was “HELL” itself!! So how, pray tell me, can you cast hell into itself?! Think about that for a moment, then allow yourselves the privilege to believe what the Bible tells you rather than what the preachers and priests have been telling you. But what else do we find being cast into this “lake of fire and brimstone?” Here the same scripture we are told that even “death” itself was cast into the “lake of fire and brimstone!” How many times have you heard that preached in your church? But wait – what else do we find in the “lake of fire and brimstone?” Let us read another verse straight out of the Bible.
Rev 20:10 “And the DEVIL that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever (“forever and ever” Grk: eis tous aiōnas ton aiōnōn “unto the ages of the ages”)
WOW! In this verse of scripture we find that the DEVIL himself was also cast into the “lake of fire!” Isn’t that amazing?!! One would think that if the “lake of fire and brimstone” were in fact the “hell” which the preachers like to preach about - (telling the people that the Devil is already there with his pitchfork in his hand, dealing torments and misery upon those who go there), - that the Devil would have to, in fact; already been there! But here, we are told that the Devil himself was “cast into the lake of fire and brimstone!” Doesn’t sound like the Devil was a willing subject does it!? If he was cast into the “lake of fire,” it would appear that he was going there unwillingly!! How utterly amazing!! How very opposite from what people have been taught over the years! And yet, we find that there are others who have been cast into this “lake of fire” as well! For here in the “lake of fire” where the Devil was cast, we find that the “beast and the false prophet are,” they are already there! So, we find here in this verse of scripture that it is here in the “lake of fire” that the Devil, and the beast and the false prophet are, along with all those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of life ( Rev. 20:15), A-N-D they will be “tormented day and night forever and ever (or, to the ages of the ages).” Now let us consider what we have just read from the Bible.
Do you precious reader of these lines, sense some things coming apart in the way you have been taught to believe? Many preachers who teach about the “lake of fire and brimstone” being “hell” will never tell the people that those who are cast into that place will only be tormented there to the “ages of the ages.” Of course, that is understandable, for they probably have never researched their theological teaching thoroughly enough to find out these things! Rather, they are puppets of whatever their seminary has taught them to preach; teaching the people that where the King James translation reads “forever and ever,” that it means for all eternity, or end-less-ness! However, such is NOT the case! For the original Greek from which the king James was translated it reads: “to the ages of the ages,” which is a set period of time and has nothing in common at all with the realm of eternity!! Furthermore, just prior to reading “forever and ever we read that they will be tormented “day and night – forever and ever.” There is NO day and night in eternity – day and night only belongs to the realm of time! So, whatever is to be cast into the “lake of fire and brimstone,” will only remain there in its torment until the “ages of the ages” are fulfilled. Contrary with the popular religious theology of “hell” being the “lake of fire and brimstone,” where people will be in damnation throughout eternity, there is no such place!! Now, this should be wonderful news! Yes, even good news for all those who may have been taught that there was such a place of eternal damnation! Now, there are those (Christian) people who become very enraged and infuriated at anyone who should declare such good news! For the message of eternal damnation in hell has been so deeply engraved into their hearts, until they cannot believe; or, are not willing to believe, anything else! I personally have watched the eyes of people as I preached this message, and have seen the fiery rage begin to well up from within them against such wonderful news! How very sad indeed!
Preachers also are guilty of teaching that “hell,” or the “lake of fire and brimstone” is a literal place somewhere below the surface of the earth, a subterranean place filled with fire and brimstone. What those preachers have missed altogether is that the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, the ONLY place in the Bible where this “lake of fire and brimstone” is mentioned was being revealed to John by way of signs and symbols ( Rev. 1:1 “signified”). A sign always points to something, and in this case these signs are pointing to spiritual realities. In other words, the Holy Spirit gave the Revelation of Jesus Christ to John by way of symbolic language. Where so many people go amiss, is when they begin to take these signs to be literal things. Now I can just about hear someone asking; “Oh Yeah, How about this place, don’t you believe it is real?!” And my answer is this; “Yes, I do believe that the “Lake of Fire and brimstone” is real, but I do not believe that it is the literal fire filled lake that preachers like to call hell. For certain, anyone who is cast into this “lake of fire and brimstone” will know of its reality! But, once again it is NOT the place of which so many preachers and people have been taught to believe.”
In our examination of the “Lake of fire and brimstone” let us realize something else that the scriptures tell us.
Rev 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
In the “Lake of Fire” we find “the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars...” These all shall have their part in the “Lake of fire which burns with fire and brimstone: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH.” Now, what is the “second death?” We are told that, “The second death IS death and hell cast into the lake of fire.”
Whew! We have come a long way from traditional theology concerning the “lake of fire” being eternal hell and damnation which so many preachers like to preach about. And we have read in the scriptures that the “lake of fire” cannot be the “hell” that they preach about, for even “hell” itself was cast into this “lake of fire.” Now we read that the “lake of fire” is “the second death,” what could that possibly mean?
Rev 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
It is here that I would like to borrow an example which another precious brother in Christ once used to illustrate this point. Brother J. Preston Eby once said gave this illustration.
“An island is a tract of land completely surrounded by water, which can also be defined in reverse as; a tract of land completely surrounded by water is an island.”
A simple illustration, but hopefully it will help us to better understand what John is writing here in Revelation 20:14. Using this same principle, let us apply it to this verse of scripture. It should clarify what is being said. “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” Now let us read this in reverse.... “The second death IS death and hell cast into the lake of fire.” So, what is the second death? It is the first death and hell cast into the lake of fire! The second death is not merely the lake of fire itself. And it is not that people will be tortured forever in the lake of fire. The Holy Spirit’s definition is simple and plain; for it is that the second death is the first death and hell cast into the lake of fire!
May the Lord open the eyes of our understanding to see that everything cast into the lake of fire pertains to DEATH? Death itself is cast into the lake of fire. Hell, the unseen realm of the dead (hades), is cast into the lake of fire. And those whose names are not written in the Book of Life, (in other words) those who are “dead, in trespasses and in sins,” who inhabit hell on earth, are cast into the lake of fire. That is the end of death and hell and sin, for God shall destroy death in the lake of fire, He shall burn up hell in the lake of fire, and He shall consume sin and rebellion in the lake of fire. The time is coming...when God’s Kingdom shall be all in all, and there shall be NO MORE sin, nor sinners, nor death, nor hell. It is clear that God does NOT destroy people in the lake of fire; nowhere does the Bible say that, for that would be a contradiction of terms. How can you destroy death by creating death? How can you abolish death by bringing people under the power of eternal death from which there is no escape?! Oh, no, it is not people who are destroyed in the lake of fire – It is SIN and DEATH and HELL that are destroyed! “And the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” (I. Cor. 15:26). Thus, the lake of fire is nothing more or less than THE DEATH OF DEATH!”
Brother Ray Prinzing once wrote the following words of inspiration. “The offence of the first Adam brought all people under the sentence of death for sin. Hence presently our mortal bodies are in a state of dying, while our minds need to be freed from the minding of the things of the flesh, to mind the things of the Spirit. The act of disobedience of Adam brought forth death. Now, the obedience and work of righteousness of the Last Adam (Jesus Christ) also brings forth a death for every person. The question arises, Is this SECOND DEATH the same kind of death as the first? Many people think that it is a repetition of the first, and that the results are the same, while it’s action is more severe and cruel, being in fire And some Christians add very sorrowfully, ‘and from this second death there is no resurrection, it is an endless torment in agony,’ BUT NOT SO! For God’s seconds are never duplicates of the first, they are always better, higher, and more powerful than the firsts, and used to counter-balance all the actions of the firsts, and MUCH MORE --- He always saves the best until last.
“All Bible statements prove that the two deaths (the death that Adam brought, and the death that our Lord Jesus Christ brought), are absolutely UN-ALIKE, and that the two are opposite and different. The second death UN-DOES all the work of the first death in the same manner that the Last Adam (Jesus Christ) UN-DID all the work of the first Adam. Not to nullify the purpose being wrought out by the plan of God in the firsts, but to bring a release from the firsts into a MUCH MORE manner of majesty and glory and power and scope of coverage, into the greater and glorious things of God. Creation was made subject to vanity for a purpose! ( Romans 8:20). Sin was allowed for wise ends, but when those ends have been secured it will have to cease to exist. The purpose is not to nullify, but the means whereby the purpose has been executed shall be done away. Discipline is a means to an end, but not an end in itself, it leads up to the ‘afterwards yielding the peaceable fruits of righteousness.’ (Heb. 12:11)
“The first Adam died to God and righteousness, and became alive unto sin. The Last Adam (Jesus Christ) died unto sin (Rom. 6:10), and liveth unto God, and so fulfilleth all righteousness. The first Adam made all people sinners, the Last Adam makes all people righteous. The lives and deaths of the two Adams are thus greatly contrasting the one to the other, the FIRST DEATH was a transition from life to death, the SECOND DEATH is a transition from corruption to incorruption, from mortality to immortality. Transformed from the carnal mind to the spiritual mind, which is life and peace, which transformation is wrought by a dying out to one realm, to come alive to the higher realm. Because --- the second death is prepared to purge out and burn away sin and its results, and so doing to cleanse all of God’s creation!
“Death came as an enemy, the fruitage of an act of disobedience that turned people away from God into the realm of carnality, minding self and flesh. Now God makes death overcome itself. It is by death that death is rendered powerless, and there arises an upspringing, a new life. It takes death to destroy death, and thus Christ Jesus ‘did taste death for every man’ -- ‘that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage’ (Heb. 2:9, 14-15). Since we are all under the effects of the first death, it is appointed unto us to die once more --- not physical death, we are already in a state of mortality -- but now a dying out to this present death state. We conquer this death of the carnal mind by dying to it (Romans 8:6-14) -- only God could use such a process bringing forth victory, but praise God, He is destroying the first death with the second death!
“All the Crucifixion, our identification with the cross (death) of Jesus Christ, must first be accepted by faith as a fact, and then the working of it (our dying out to self, and the carnal mind) in and through us is a process. It is done NOW, through our yieldedness to the call and claim of Christ upon us, we won’t have to face it later, in what is called the ‘lake of fire,’ which is the second death. The passing through that lake of divine purification will thoroughly purge out the last remaining fragments of the rebellion and waywardness of man, till the mystery of iniquity is no more, and then the carnal mind being abolished, death is no more” End quote
Rev 21:3 “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
Apparently some preachers, including a vast multitude of Christians, do not believe the Word of God! For they adamantly oppose the Word of God as declared here in these verses of scripture. Man’s religious theology brings nothing to a conclusion, and it never attains to a definite goal. Sin and suffering and people’s in-subjection and self-will are never conquered. Death is never destroyed. Redemption is never fully secured.
Can you believe God’s word over the religious theology of the preachers today? His word is: “There shall be NO MORE DEATH!!” No more death in any form. No more first death, no more second death! Furthermore He tells us; there shall be no more sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain...” But according to religious theology, there will be teeming billions of poor lost souls which will be tormented in pain and agony for all eternity in a hell burning with fire and brimstone!!!
Of course someone will reply, “Well, there will be no more death for all those who are fortunate enough to make it in the rapture, and are taken up to heaven; but there will be eternal death and pain and sorrow for all those who missed the rapture and were cast into hell.” That beloved, is the theology of the religious structure today. Denying the very Word of God which declares that there shall be no more death, no more pain, no more sorrow, no more tears, no more crying...no more! And that means anywhere in all of God’s vast creation! God will NOT have to be holding His foot on the lid of hell to keep the Devil and all those who were cast into that place; for there shall be no such place in existence! Presently, the lake of fire is there, awaiting all those who are driven by the spirit of the world, the flesh, and the devil. Those whose self-will has not been broken by the working of God in their lives. Nothing He has ever done has yet broken their stubborn will or brought them to a place of repentance. The wages of sin has not broken them. The harvest of evil which they have sown and reaped over and over has not broken them. Even the hell that they are going through right now has not broken them. The tender mercies of God have not broken them. The Holy Spirit has faithfully told us of a second death into which unbelieving and incorrigibly wicked people shall go. They will go there with death and with hell and with the Devil and the beast and the false prophet! The penalty of sin is very great! The processes of God to break the resistance of willfully wicked and sinful people are extremely severe. The terrible death which many shall pass through in the lake of fire is reserved for those “full of fear, full of unbelief, hearts filled with all kinds of abominable things, hearts full of murder, those who have given themselves over to all manner of harlotry, giving themselves over to sorcery and idol worship, a heart filled with lies... all such shall have their part in the lake of fire! And they surely will find themselves in torment there, for the holy and divine fire of purification and correction shall burn hot and consume everything about them that is combustible, that which is adverse to the very divine nature of God’s holiness. That terrible death is reserved for all those who have not profited from the previous judgments and still need further correction to subdue them to the will of God. But when the process is complete, and the last sinner has emerged from God’s discipline with a broken and contrite spirit, having learned the lessons of the awful fruit of their own way, fully yielding to the Lordship of our Saviour Jesus Christ (Romans 14:11), then shall be fulfilled these precious words of our loving and faithful Heavenly Father in Revelation 21:3-5.

THE LAKE OF FIRE
Continued…
It has come to my attention that a number of Evangelical Christians are adopting a teaching which they believe clarifies what God has in mind concerning all those people who reject Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Their theory is that God has to annihilate all those poor souls, because they are so incorrigibly evil even God Himself is unable, or unwilling to save them. All those who accept such a horrible teaching have in fact just jumped off the edge of the abyss into the carnal mind of logic.
Every Christian who professes to be a believer in Jesus Christ must believe that He is truly their Saviour. Now one major question must be asked; “Did you and I come to Jesus of our very own volition to receive Him to be our Saviour?” Did we come to Him, or were we drawn to Him by the Spirit of God?
John 6:44 “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Any intelligent person who has read the Bible at any length can tell you that there is a front door, and there is a back door. In other words, if you are just looking into the pages of the Bible for teachings, then you will find there is always a front door that will lead you into any number of teachings, and then, you will find a back door to those teachings which will lead you on and on into an endless quest for more teachings. 2nd Tim. 3:7 “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
In all our learning, if we never come to know “THE TRUTH” then all our learning is just been a waste. For to know The Truth is more than just knowing the letter of the words and teachings of the Bible.
John 5:38 “And ye have not his Word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me. 40 And ye will not come to Me, that ye might have life.”
The Truth is not the grouping together of various letters and words to form a sentence, a paragraph, a page in a book; but the Truth is personified in the Person of Jesus Christ. Straight up – Jesus Christ is The Message of the Bible. If you and I read the whole Bible through and through from cover to cover and never find the Person of Jesus Christ, then all our reading has led us nowhere. So, if this be true how do we find Him when we read the Bible? Once again, unless the Spirit of God draws you to His Son, and reveals Him to you, you will never find Him.
Mat 11:25 “At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.”
If you are looking into the Bible just to find doctrine (teaching) then that is all you will find. But if your heart is like that of a babe (honestly and purely open) realizing your dependence is entirely in God, then, you have a heart that God will respond to.
Mark 10:15 “Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”
You see, God is looking beyond all our outward facade and religious masquerades and looks to the true attitude of your heart. It has never been a question as to whether God can save anyone, or is willing to save anyone; His ability and desire to do so have never changed. For God’s will is to save every person who has been born into this world. And He will do that very thing, and He is in no hurry, nor is He slack and lazy in this regard.
People have a lot of petty hang-ups in their thinking toward God. Most of those hang-ups have been built into our thinking by religious minds that are devoid of knowing The Truth. Christianity is no different. Some of the most horrendous doctrines (teachings) supposedly coming from the Bible are those being taught as revelations given from God in the churches. Those teachings are coming out of the vain imaginations of people who have never come to know the heart of God which is revealed in the Person of His Son Jesus Christ. Everything that God IS is Personified in His Son Jesus Christ. If you and I want to know the heart of God, then that knowing Him will come only by our personal relationship in and with His Son Jesus Christ.
Whatever our concept of God is is what we are going to believe Him to be. If you see Him as some kind of miserable failure and someone quite like us, then your God will most certainly be capable of failure. The problem arises when we try to bring God down into our own level of thinking, rather than surrendering ourselves to Him so He can raise us up out of ours and into His manner of thinking.
The religious concept of the “lake of fire and brimstone” as mentioned in the Bible, as being something destructive and even annihilating in nature, is purely conceived out of a heart and mind other than God’s. The “lake of fire and brimstone” is simply another aspect of God’s wonderful redemptive and saving process. The “lake of fire and brimstone” is NOT God’s final alternative just in case everything else He has done fails. That thought only comes out of the darkened heart and mind of people who do NOT know God. The “lake of fire and brimstone” is the means by which His divine wisdom and plan provides for the salvation of all His creation including every person who has ever been born into this world!
Believe it or not, our God and heavenly Father has made it so that there can be no such thing as annihilation. The carnal assumption that annihilation means that some “thing” can be made to be non-existent is false. No matter what you decide to do to any “thing” to annihilate that “thing,” all you can do to it is change its form. One of the most severe forms of possibly annihilating any “thing” is by the process of fire. The most severe changing of forms that takes place in the process of fire is for that “thing” to be changed into the substance of the fire itself! No “thing” has been annihilated, but the “thing” has been brought into the very same form and substance of the fire itself.
One of the most likely reasons for anyone to come up with such a ridiculous idea that God intends to annihilate something, namely, those whom we would esteem to be so incorrigibly evil that they deserve to be annihilated, is a person’s own judgment that there are those of such nature. Once again, their idea is espoused by people of religious minds devoid of knowing God. Their idea comes from the religious notion that somewhere, sometime or another, God Who is all-powerful, all-wise and is everywhere present made a gigantic mistake. That, in their own way of thinking gives Him the prerogative of maybe annihilating (erasing) His mistake. Ho, Ho, Ho, think again, for our God makes no mistakes, never has and never will. If you are one who tends to believe He does, then you do not believe in the God that I believe in. More than likely, you believe in a god that religion has produced.
It truly is amazing how far the natural mind of reasoning has fallen from the wisdom of God. The more one looks at the results of the “lie” that was planted into man’s heart and mind, the more we realize just how perfect that “lie” was. I don’t know what your concept is concerning the Devil or Satan, but one thing is for certain, he was a ‘perfect liar!’ He is a ‘perfectionist in the art of deception.’ BUT, the only arena where his diabolical poison is potent is within the carnal natural mind. That mind is the mind that became his garden, which is filled with all sorts of vain imaginations and thoughts which are totally contrary and is not subject to God.
Romans 8:6 “For to be carnally (naturally) minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh (governed by their carnal mind) cannot please God.”
1st Cor. 2:14 “But the natural man (mind) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (understood).”
So, really there is no great mystery as to why so many Christian people are swallowing up some of the most stupid and insipid teachings today, for the underlying reason is simply they are ready and willing to hear and believe anything that caters to their carnal mind of reasoning. Such is the mark of being “babes” and not in mature ones in Christ. There are many preachers who claim to be great mature ones in Christ spiritually, who are mere “babes” clothed in garments far too large for them. Christians yes, but very carnal minded.
1 Cor. 3:1 “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual (spiritually minded), but as unto carnal (minded), even as unto babes in Christ. 2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3 For ye are yet carnal (minded): for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal (minded), and walk as (natural) men?”
One of the marks of knowing Jesus Christ in intimate relationship is the maturing of the mind into that of the mind of Christ. A person (Christian believer) who walks in close and intimate relationship in Christ cannot continually remain carnally minded. For that close relationship with and in Him will develop another mind in you, HIS MIND!
It has been said by some, and I am persuaded that it is true. The more closely we are brought to God Who is a “consuming fire,” the more we become like Him and one in Him who is The Fire. Don’t dread the Fire, don’t recoil from the Fire beloved; for all The Fire will do is purge and cleanse you to become more and more in His image and likeness. His Fire is not to destroy you nor to annihilate but to save! Amen.
