We Are Looking for Piano Accompanist...

We are currently looking for a pianist that would accompany our 15-20 voice Chancel Choir.  The Choir year runs from September to June, with summers off.

Job Description...

Title: Choir Accompanist

.

Purpose: To accompany choir(s) with music during services of worship.

.

Accountability: Accountable to the Worship Committee and to the Pastor as head of staff.

.

Responsibilities: 

  1. The Choir Accompanist will be prepared to rehearse with the choir at the regular rehearsals (currently Thursday evenings at 7:00).

 2. The Choir Accompanist will play for the choir during regular worship services as well as special services such as Christmas, Palm Sunday, Easter and Thanksgiving.

 3. The Choir Accompanist will be responsible for finding a replacement and notifying the Choir Director in the event she/he is unable to play a contracted time.

 4. The Choir Accompanist is responsible for caring for the piano:  water in the thermal unit, arranging for tuning, etc.

  Evaluation: Performance review will be conducted annually by the Pastor and the Worship committee, plus one other member of the congregation, selected by the Pastor. This evaluation is done to ensure a just working environment, affirm the development of the director, and offer assistance, if needed. Included will be self-evaluation report and an annual Review Report followed by a discussion meeting with the Worship Committee, Pastor, and director. The report will then be passed on to the Church Council for their information.
