Chancel Choir

We are truly blessed to have an incredible Chancel Choir in our church.  Linda Staiger is our new choir director, and under her direction, the choir promises to continue in its awesome traditions.  There are fifteen regular members in our choir, and they are joined regularly by guests, from previous choir members, to gifted musicians in the area, even students from Alfred University.

Each Sunday, the choir performs four pieces.  In addition, several of our members participate in several other special services and other musical programs.  The last Sunday of June is our Choir Sunday, a service of Scripture readings and favorite choir pieces.

Each December, the choir gives a Choir & Carols Christmas Program in the church.  This is truly a special evening of music, with the choir singing several favorite Christmas pieces, and the congregation joining in in several Christmas Carols.

Several members of the choir also sing with annual Hornell Contada chorus for the Memorial Day concert and the Christmas Contada in December.

The choir sings from September to June (July and August is time off).

New members are always welcome!

Chime Choir

The Chimes Choir just keeps getting better with the addition of several new members.  Director Linda Staiger works very hard with the choir, and it shows.  You can hear the Chimes Choir every couple of months during the Sunday Worship Service.

The Chimes Choir also hopes to participate in a Bell Choir Festival in Geneva this summer, and will be joining the Alfred Station Seventh Day Baptist Chime Choir next season for a combined performance.  Great things are planned!

New members are always welcome.  Practices are held on Thursday evenings at 8:30 pm (immediately following the Chancel Choir Rehearsal).  Perspective members are invited to stop by and give it a shot.  If you want to try, but you're not comfortable jumping right in, Contact Linda Staiger and let her know. She will be glad to work with you.

Our Organ

We are also blessed at Almond Union of Churches to have a beautiful pipe organ!

Under the skilled hands of Diane Straight, our organist, the pipes sing each Sunday at worship!  The organ is also a blessing in the wedding services held at the church at summer.

Though at the point of needing some work, with much restoration already done, nothing beats the sound of real pipes!

Bob & Gena Decker play at a Coffee House

Almond Union's Next Coffee House...

Each month, usually on the 4th Saturday, and always starting at 7:00 pm, the Almond Union of Churches comes to life with music!

Each month we have a different performer come in and play for us.  Most play contemporary Christian music, some have a little bluegrass or country flair, some play more secular than sacred - but it's all good!

If you are looking for a way to fellowship with good people, we invite you to join us for our next coffee house.

Everyone is welcome - free admission - free refreshments - always great music
