A "fusion" liturgy combining ancient rituals, traditional and non-traditional hymns, music from all sources, Gospel preaching with applications to everyday life, terrific choir, great community and a whole lot of fun AND GUILT FREE!

We use Eugene Peterson's "The Message" translation of Scripture and Eucharistic prayers from various sources utilizing new imagery of the holy in our lives. This is NOT your grandmother's Episcopal Church!

Anointing during the Sunday Service the first Sunday of every month.

The Most Amazing, Outrageous, Incredible Christmas Pageant Ever!  Sunday, December 22 at 10:30 a.m.  Featuring a cast of thousands and The Dance Camp dancers.  Everyone gets to participate as we tell the Nativity story in our Ascension way!

Christmas Eve worship:  10:00 p.m.  Fabulous music, great preaching and a terrific spirit.  Come join us.

Christmas Day worship:  10:00 a.m.  A quiet spoken service with a capella Christmas carols.

Our historic church is in need of plaster repairs and painting of the interior.  Ascension Church serves the Linwood and Allentown community.  It is a beacon of hope and respite in Buffalo.  We have an outreach to Compass House and serve as a base for Young Audiences of Western New York, bringing art and history to elementary schools and Dance Camp, a dance school for African-American Children.
