Sunday Worship at 10:30 a.m

A "fusion" liturgy combining ancient rituals, traditional  hymns, Gospel preaching with applications to everyday life, terrific choir, great community and a whole lot of fun AND GUILT FREE!

Anointing during the Sunday Service the first Sunday of every month.

NOVEMBER

November 14: DINNER AND A MOVIE:  1953 TITANIC with Barbara Stanwyck and Clifton Webb.  A more probable story than the recent version.  Academy award winning special effects.  Not to be missed!

November 15:  VETERANS DAY REMEMBRANCE.  Our Sunday service will honor those who gave their lives as well as those who have served this great country.  A special unabashedly patriotic service at 10:30 a.m.

November 19:  TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE.  A community-wide  ecumenical service remembering those transgendered people who have suffered humiliation, misunderstanding and violence.  This service is sponsored by OUTspoken for Equality.  7:00 p.m.

November 22:  THE ANNUAL MEETING AND LUNCH.  Takes place after the worship service. At this meeting we will pass the budget for 2010 and elect new vestry members.  The rector will give the State of the Church speech.  Lunch will be provided.  Pledging members have a voice and a vote at this meeting.

NOMINATIONS FOR VESTRY: We hav received two nominations for positions open on the vestry. For Junior Warden, JOHN LAUER. John has been an active member of Ascension for some time, serving on the vestry as buildings and grounds liaison and sexton. He is married to Jessica and has two daughters, Dominique and Natalie. For the open term of three years, RUTH TWIDLE. Ruth has served on the vestry, is active on the Finance Committee of Ascension. She works as an RN at St. Francis convalescent Home in North Buffalo. Earlier in the year DENNIS BYCZYNSKI was elected in a special election by the vestry to fill out a remainder term and will serve one more year.
