STAND-UP!

Some people never get the chance to make a difference.

The restoration of the Bell Tower and revitalization of this church needs to move forward hand and hand.  We can look at it in many different ways.  It can be an whelming burden or it can be our chance to make a difference for generations to come.  I hope each of you would be willing to stand-up and come forward, because this is a task that has to be completed by everyone of us.  If we choose not to we might as well fire off the wrecking ball.  That is where we are.

So, take the leap of faith and lend a hand.  We have formed five committees so far.  Consider signing up for one or even two.

They are:

Fundraising – All the things your mind can think of to generate money.  We have a garage sale planned for July, the return of Daniel in the making and lots of good ideas in the works, but we could use more!  The youth are certainly needed here for the actual events!  If you need community service hours, we are your place!

Capital Campaign – A committee is putting together an appeal for a long term financial commitment solely for the rebuilding of the bell tower.

Grant research and writing – This committee will be searching and applying for grants from any source we can find.

Appeal letter – They say you often just have to ask, and so we are.  A letter is going out to all parishes in the state and hopefully in the country asking them to consider helping us with our task.  This is a great place for our seniors to help!  We are going to need a lot of people helping with the mailing!

Stewardship Committee – It’s been a few years since we had a formal committee to ask for pledges, we are going to do it this year.

Your vestry has made a commitment to this task.  The chairmen are in place and now it’s time to move forward.  Please consider helping.  Call Barb at 343-6802 or Crystal at 356-2405 and let us know how you would like to help!

Make the choice to make a difference.
