Amherst Lutheran Church

Amherst Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Williamsville, a suburb of Buffalo, welcomes you to worship! We have a live JAM worship on Saturday at 5pm and a more traditional Lutheran worship service with our pipe organ and piano on Sunday at 10am. Sunday school for children and adults, as well as a monthly confirmation class for teens, are just a few of the weekend activities we think you will enjoy! If you live in Amherst, Cheektowaga, Getzville, Snyder or Eggertsville, we're just minutes away from your home.

Adults can gather for Sunday class at 9am September -May. Our conversation focus is on the scripture readings for the day.

Children age 4 and up begin their 10am Sunday hour (Sept. 18-May) with you in our worship space then leave for their Sunday school story time after participating with the Pastor in the children's message. They will rejoin you before you leave worship. An indoor recreation area is available to our children for fun and fellowship after worship.

Parents with pre-Sunday school children : We realize that at times it is difficult for the very young to sit in worship attentively and without disruption of others in worship. We can help you. There is a corner of the lobby designed for the needs of preschool children that you may use when the need arises and when the need passes, please rejoin us in the worship area. We simply ask that you tidy up the area before leaving the building. There are also child appropriate bulletins available as you pick up your program from an usher.

If there is a way we can be helpful to you, please contact us through e-mail at: amherstlutheran@verizon.net or call 716-632-4185. We are located at 5125 Main Street - just east of the I-290 - in Williamsville, New York. Across from the Tim Horton's. Parking in the rear.

We serve Jesus, Son of God, Savior and Lord. Our preaching and teaching strives to be faithful to God and His Word alone.

Amherst Lutheran Church embraces God's gifts to be put to use in the caring ministry of Jesus throughout His world. The assumption that anyone in the congregation can serve in any capacity is simply not true. But everyone can serve in some capacity, dependent on the gift they have been given by God. We will help you identify the gifts you have been given, some of which are identified in scripture, I Corinthians 12. We intend to  put God's gifts to use, and like the Good Samaritan, walk God's presence into the lives of our hurting neighbors so that they might be lifted up to experience the kindness of God.
