In the name of Christ...
We at Amherst Lutheran Church strive to embrace the gifts of God to be used in the caring ministry of Jesus throughout His world. During the summer, we collect school supplies for area Amherst school children. We have gathered baby items to support the ministry of Harvest House in South Buffalo. We have provided money to support the ministry of Lutheran Disaster Relief and their efforts in eastern NY. Our Sunday school provided small medical supplies to the Resurrection Lutheran Health Center in Buffalo. At Christmas, we provide small gifts to children and their families who attend the Windermere school in Amherst. Throughout the year, month to month, we try our best to be the care and generosity of Christ in His world. We ask you to join us in that work.
During the month of May, we are receiving offerings in support of the ministry of Lutheran Charities. (see below)
In addition, we are preparing to hold a benefit Chiavetta's chicken dinner take out sale on June 9 from 4-7pm in order to help defray some of the medical bills of one of our members recently hospitalized for several weeks. That sale will be open to the public.
We are providing space and helping to staff an Alzheimer's respite care group once a month For participant registration or to volunteer, you must contact The Alzheimer's Association of WNY @ 626-2255
