For What Rite Does St. John Maximovitch Theological Institute Train its Priests?
The Diocese of the St. Basil's Missionary Orthodox Catholic Church primarily uses the Eastern Rite Liturgies of St. John Chrysostom, St. Basil the Great, and that of St. Gregory the Theologian (also known as the Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Species). Even though these are the main liturgies used by the Orthodox Church in Greece, Russia, and other Slavic countries, we celebrate these and other Orthodox liturgies in the vernacular (in the language of the people to whom we minister.
Any priest, of this jurisdiction, who wishes to have bi-ritual faculties, may receive such faculties from this jurisdiction's hierarch, +Gregori, after having completed the required training in the liturgy/liturgies they wish to celebrate. Training in the Western Rite Celtic Orthodox Liturgy can be received through St. Michael's Monastery and Theological Seminary by contacting Rev. Fr. Abbot Michael Valintine at:
