One of the Holy Family's standing committees is that of Finance.  The Finance Committee is assigned to the following specific areas of interest:  Finances, Parish Facilities, Maintenance, Personnel, Administrative Services and Special Events  (Holy Family Parish Council By-Laws: revised February 2008; Article X Committees; page 4)

Those who are homebound and in need of getting groceries, needing special errands or getting to doctor appointments, are urged to contact one of the above members who will try and make arrangements to meet those needs.

Our Ladies of Charity Organization is asking for cancelled postage stamps to be give to he Felician Sisters.  Please cut a 1/4 inch margin around the cancelled stamp and place it in the regular collection basket in an envelope marked "Stamps for Sisters"

December 6th:  Annual Mass and Reception in the rectory.  Members will serve in various liturgical ministries during the 10:30 Mass.

"I am Personally Opposed to Abortion, But....."          
     Dr. Rose Hershenov, adjunct professor of philosophy at Niagara University and respect life cooordinator at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Kenmore, and a young family mother, will give an inspirational talk on pro-life issues of importance to all Christians on Tuesday, December 1st at 7 p.m. in the lyceum of the St. Joseph Social Center.  All are invite to come for the hour long presentation.
National Night of Prayer for Life will be held at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph worship site on December 8-9 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Decorating & Enhancing Special Liturgies Committee
Coordinators:  Evana Daniels and Joette Haines

Decorations and Symbolism help people to better understand the messages of the Gospels and the meanings of the seasons.  The Liturgy of the Word and special celebrations can become more fully alive and appreciated through the display of creative ideas that tickle the senses.  Does God speak to you in unique and special ways?  Why not become part of a team that assists the pastor with presenting these themes.

PRAYERS FOR NEIGHBORING CHURCHES:  The Churces of our area are committed to praying for our neighbors of other congregations.  During October we are asked to pray for the people of Faith Power Mission and Shiloh Baptist Church.  During the month of November, we are asked to pray for the people of Faith Baptist Church and Victory Baptist Church.

"Downtown Albion Celebration"  Friday, December 4th.  churches open for your visits: 5:00p.m. - 6:45 p.m.; Lighting of the community Christmas Tree on the courthouse lawn at 6:45 p.m.; Christmas Caroling 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.;  Afterwards will be information, children's crafts, cocoa and prayers for your individual needs.

Advent Luncheon:  Christ Church - Wednesday, December 2nd at noon

One of the Standing Committees of the Parish Council is that of Social Justice.  The Social Justice Committee has been assigned the following areas of responsibility:  Peace & Justice, Visitation, Right to Life, Outreach, and Social Action (Holy Family Parish Albion; Parish Council By-Laws; revised February 2008; Article X; page 4)

Social Justice Committee Meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the McCabe Room of the Parish Social Center

The Buildings & Grounds Committee's plan to save the exterior doors on the church and school of the St. Joseph Campus has been referred to a company out of Rochester who specializes in such restoration work.

One of the Standing Committees of the Parish Council is that of Spiritual Life.  The Spiritual Life Committee has been assigned the following areas of responsibility: Liturgy, Spiritual Renewal, Evangelization, Spiritual Formation, and Vocations (Holy Family Parish Albion; Parish Council By-Laws; revised February 2008; Article X Committees; page 3) 

PRAYER CHAIN
     One of the greatest spiritual services this committee offers is a prayer network where people pray for others in need of help.   And it works!  The director of this program is Connie Nauratil.  Please feel free to call her at 589-8458 should you need special prayers or if you would like to become part of the Prayer Chain Network.  There are currently 46 members of the parish prayer chain.
     YEAR FOR PRIESTS - Pope Benedict XVI issued a decree on May 12, 2009 that June 19, 2009 - June 19, 2010 shall be designated "The Year for Priests".  The Holy Father is asking that the first Thursday of each month be set aside a holy hour for parishioners to come to church to pray for all priests.   Please join us and pray for our priests from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. every first Thursday of the month.  For further questions, please contact Carol Pilon at 589-9005 or Nancy Neidert at 589-8407. 

Morning Bible Study on "The Shack" resumes on Monday mornings at 8:45 a.m. in the McCabe Room starting October 5th.

Eagle Scout ProjectAn empty can and bottle account has been set up at the Albion Redemption Center to benefit candidate Bryan Deibel's Eagle Scout Project of refurbishing the nature trail behind the Albion Elementary School.  Bryan will also pick up these returnables from you by calling him at 589-1335.

Troop/Pack 164 meetings are held at the social center on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m
