Sunday Gatherings for Worship

The Holy Eucharist (Communion or the Mass) is celebrated at 7:30 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m.  The 7:30 a.m. service is a small group, those coming in from night shift, working on Sunday morning, and other early birds.  La misa a las 7:30 es una reunión más pequeña.  The 10:30 liturgy is where you'll find most of us, in thoughtful and lively, participatory celebrations, fully including children, teens, and adults.  There is usually a brief children's sermon.  La misa bilingüe a las 10:30 tiene más personas con música y mucha participación de la gente de cualquiera edad.  Normalmente hay un sermón para los niños, y actividades para ellos durante la liturgía.

StreetChurch takes the Body of Christ out of the enclosed church, for people who may not have known that Jesus invites them to his tableLearn more from the new StreetChurch page.  IglesiAfuera lleva el Cuerpo de Cristo de la iglesia cerrada hacia las calles, a personas que quizás no entiendan que Jesús les invita a su mesa.

7:00 p.m. The first Sunday of every month, we celebrate a "Zen mass" -- emphasizing silent meditation and minimizing the spoken word, as we enter the mystery of the Body of Christ.  El primer domingo de cada mes, celebramos misa en estilo de meditación budista -- accentuando silencio más que palabra, entrando en el misterio del Cuerpo de Cristo.

Jesus invites all to his table.  The altar at which we offer and break bread does not belong to the Church of Our Saviour, or to the Episcopal Church.  We share his invitation, "Who ever is hungry, come and receive."

Wednesday Feasts for Body and Soul

The Community gathering begins with supper at 6:00 p.m. -- serve yourself and wash your own plate!   Or you may choose to arrive just in time for the Community Mass at 6:45.  Different members of the congregation share the responsibility for homilies at these lively gatherings, commemorating saints who inspire and challenge us to live out the Good News in our own day.  This is also an opportunity for us to learn new and singable music in a variety of styles.  The youngest can enjoy the attention of serving as acolytes; the shyest can find a voice and share in the readings, knowing we're among friends.  And some always stay, while others just arrive, for the Community Bible Study around the kitchen table, at 8 p.m.

Memorial Day 2006

We pray each week for US military personnel killed in Iraq, and for their families.  We pray also for the Iraqi military and citizens who have been killed, and for their families.  Though their names are unknown to us, we are aware that there are usually ten to fifty Iraqis dead for each US citizen in this war.  Many of them are children.  As we see the representative names of our own young men and women around the altar this day, let us give ourselves all the more fervently to prayer and work for peace.
