Pastor Barker holds his M.A. in Counseling and provides Christian-based personal and family counseling, as his schedule permits.

Classes and support groups are also offered on occasion to help those struggling with various personal and family problems.

Our Sunday School classes, as well as Pastor Barker's sermon series from the pulpit, will occasionally touch on these important personal issues.

DivorceCare

Meets Mondays from 7 to 9 PM

DivorceCare is Community-wide Divorce Recovery Support Group

At DivorceCare, participants will become part of a small support group of people who are also experiencing separation and divorce. Interaction with the group will provide opportunities for discussion, learning and healing of hurts that are the result of divorce. DivorceCare also features videotape seminar sessions with nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics.

Leadership for DivorceCare is provided by Pastor Dan Barker, M.A. in Counseling, who understands the trauma of divorce, having gone through a divorce himself. He has a real concern for individuals who are experiencing the trauma of a broken marriage. DivorceCare is a ministry to hurting people, a place to find acceptance, and a listening ear.

All sessions are held at Cortland Trinity Baptist Church, 2576 McCleary Jacoby Road in Cortland. The registration fee for the 13 sessions and a workbook is $50. Interested people can call the church office at 637-1421 or simply come to any Monday night meeting. The next series of DivorceCare will begin in sometime in the Fall.
