Our Mission
Cortland Trinity is a church committed to reaching our culture with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We affirm that Jesus Christ is Lord and that His Word is our final authority. As we worship God and love one another, our purpose is to introduce people to Jesus Christ, teach them to follow Him, equip them to serve Him, that we all might become more like Him.
Cortland Trinity Baptist Church Doctrinal Statement
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13)
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Genesis 3:22; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He was fully God and fully man, we believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death and shed blood on the cross as the full and complete atonement for our sins, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14; 10:30 Hebrews 4:14,15; I Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9,11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13; Matthew 24:30, 31; I Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 8:2, 10 ,7, 11, 15)
We believe that all men are lost sinners and can only be saved from their sin by the grace of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 10:9-13; Galatians 1:16)
We believe that all who trust in Christ are born again to eternal life and will never die. (John 3:1-7; 10:27-29; 11:25-26; Ephesians 2:1-5)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to lead a Godly life; and it is He who provides power for service. (John 16:7-13; John 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Eph. 1:13)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 3:16; John 11:25; Romans 6:23; Revelations 20:15)
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus. (Ephesians 4:3, 13; Colossians 3:14)
We believe in the table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord's Supper, for believers. (1 Corinthians 11:23-28; Matthew 26:26-29)
We believe that worship and love for God is our number one priority. (John 4:23, 24; Matthew 22:36-40)
We believe that prayer is the touchstone of our power. (Matthew 7:7, 8; Mark 11:24; John 14:13, 14)
