The Second Greatest Gift of All… Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior. Old Doctor Luke speaks of having a perfect understanding of all things from the very first, concerning the birth and life of Christ. ( Luke 1:3 ), “It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus“. The Word of God affords us, the very same opportunity; if we will but here to the voice of God. ( Psalm 95:7 ), “For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,” We all know, this ( those of us that are born again, unto salvation in Christ Jesus ). There is no greater gift then to be delivered from Eternal Damnation and the flames of Hell unto Eternal Glory with God forever. It just could not get any better than that, or could it? God in his infinite wisdom and mercy has afforded us an, unparalleled, opportunity. We All know Salvation is a gift of God and could never in any way be earned or paid for by us; Seek His Leading, Hear His Voice, Obey His Voice, Practice Charity and last but not least, trust in Him. He is giving us the opportunity; not only to give back unto Him first and foremost, but, also, add to our positions of authority throughout, all eternity. How many people will really understand this? Do you really, truly understand this? Its an awesome truth! We must with out fail, hear these words, meditate upon these words and apply these words too… our lives or spend eternity wishing that we had … But, what about Standing and Position in the Eternal Kingdom? This is the Second Greatest Gift. Just Look at what the Word of God has to say, to us : I Cor 3:10-15. II Tim 4:6-8. Matt 6:19-21., 12:35., 19:21., I Peter 5:1-4. James 2:14-26. I Cor 3:10-15. 10. According to the Grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13. Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. II Timothy 4:6-8. 6. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Matt 6:19-21. , Matt 12:35. , Matt 19:21. , 19. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, were moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves breakthrough and steal: 20. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not breakthrough nor steal: 21. For where you treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matt 12:35. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. Matt 19:21. Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. I Peter 5:1-4. 1. THE ELDERS which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2. Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3. Neither as being lords over God’ heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. James 2:14-26 14. What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have no works? can faith save him? 15. If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16. And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21. Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the alter? 22. Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23. And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was call the Friend of God. 24. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26. For as the body without spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. May our Blessed Lord and Savior Bless you and yours now and forevermore.
