What's Going on in the Sunday School Education Hour These Days?
The Children's Sunday School structure has changed recently, moving from a single larger multi-age class, to several classes to better accommodate the age and learning abilities of several different age groups. The curriculum is a combination of Group Inc.'s "Faithweaver" curriculum and other teaching tools chosen by the Sunday School teachers to better tailor each class to its students.
Beginning on February 5, the Adult Education group is doing a study series to go along with the "Seven Deadly Sins and the virtues that Save Us from Them" series (see the article in the next column).
After that, we'll be doing a five-week study series on the book of Ruth - a really fascinating story
from the Old Testament. Love, intrigue, suspicion, money, loyalty,
acceptance - it's all packed into this little book, and we're going to
be "unpacking" it all.
Both children's and adult educational sessions start at 9:15 Sunday mornings, and there's no "start time" that you have to wait for to have the sessions make sense - you can jump in at any time. We hope you'll join us!
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!” - Psalm 118

Welcome! Frankfort Presbyterian Church is a caring community of
believers committed to living out the call to discipleship in Jesus
Christ, and to bringing the love of Christ to the community. We seek to
continue growing in our faith, and in our understanding of God’s will
for us – as individuals, as a church, and as part of the worldwide
community of believers. Sharing in
the Journey Life in Christ isn’t just a matter of
going to church on Sunday morning. It affects, and informs, how we live
our lives day to day. The Christian faith can't truly be lived out as disconnected individuals. We are called to be in relationship with each other, supportive and accountable to each other as we try to become even better followers of Jesus Christ. And we can't do this by only looking to ourselves. We are called to be the face, heart, hands and feet of Christ in this world - serving and ministering to others in physical and spiritual need, as a reflection of our love for God.
We
welcome you to worship with us! We hope that you will find our church
family an important part of your own life’s
journey as you seek a deeper, fuller relationship with God. Worship

New Sermon/EducationSeries: “The Seven Deadly Sins and the Virtues that Save Us from Them”
Each week, in both our Adult Ed and Worship Service, we'll examine one of the classic “Seven Deadly Sins” and how to avoid them. Often, in the past the virtues suggested to battle the "Deadly Sins" were mostly reactive, just trying to prevent acting on the sins that are already in our minds. We'll look at those "Classic" offsetting virtues - which are important - but we'll also be looking at a more contemporary set of contrasting, affirming values that can help us to not only not act on the sins, but keep them from forming wihin us to begin with. Nurturing these positive virtues can lead us into the kind of transformed and faithful lives that God has in mind for us.
February 5 - Pride February 19 - Envy February 26 - Anger March 4 - Sloth March 11 - Greed March 18 - Gluttony March 25 - Lust
We hope you can attend and participate in this very interesting and helpful series, in both the worship service, where the sermon will address the topic, as well as the Adult Ed class, where we'll examine each subject more interactively and in greater detail.
Audio Recordings of Entire Services or Sermons Now Available on CD or mp3
Our website has featured print versions of almost every past sermon for several years now, and we also have many mp3 audio recordings of the sermons available for downloading or streaming as well. We recently began recording the entire service, and are making them available to any shut-ins or others who would like them. We keep CDs of past services (in WMA format) available in the library, available for loan.
If you would like to receive: a CD of a specific service for you to keep, or a CD of each weekly service for you to keep; or an mp3 file of a specific service emailed to you; or mp3 files of each weekly service emailed to you;
contact us at info@frankfortpres.org and we will make the arrangements to do so. Of course, hard copy and audio (mp3 for streaming or download) of just the sermons are still available directly here on the website, by following the "Sermons" tab at the top of this page.
