Lectionary Texts:
Daily and Weekly Scripture Readings

The Revised Common Lectionary is a series of selections from the Scriptures, that runs over a three-year cycle. There are two different Lectionaries. The first is the Weekly Lectionary, which are usually the Scripture readings used in Sunday services and from which the sermon is prepared. the second is the Daily Lectionary, a different series of Scriptures that are a good source of Scripture selections for daily Bible study.

Both of these Lectionaries can be seen below. To read the full online text of either the next Weekly Lectionary or the current Daily Lectionary, just click on the date listed below, and the text will open in a new window. All Scripture texts are taken from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible (NRSV)

In addition to the daily and weekly Lectionary readings, an excellent brief daily devotional can be found at www.d365.org . This site and devotional is a joint effort of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Episcopal Church, and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Each day, you will be led through a series of steps: Pause/Listen/Think/Pray/Go - actually, the exact same format of a normal worship service - with very talented musicians offering contemplative musical background.

Also, "Our Daily Bread" devotional booklets that we're all familiar with are also available online each day, at www.odb.org/ .

Another good daily devotional is The Upper Room, which you can find online at www.upperroom.org/devotional/ .
