From Our Director of Music, Charla Dryburgh
“Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” Eph. 5:19-20
In this season of Thanksgiving, I would like to reflect back on some musical memories of 2008. Some highlights:
JANUARY Forming a community choir to sing at the “Prayer for Christian Unity” service at the church of the Nativity.
APRIL “Springspiration” held here, with 16 musical groups/soloists/choirs-our community’s got talent!
MAY Voices joining to praise God at our Utica Area Women’s Retreat
JULY Community VBS with excellent songs, beautiful multi-media images, and enthusiastic singing by all!
AUGUST Owl Creek Baptist’s “Praisestock,” where our outstanding praise band was out, standing on the stage and glorifying God.
SEPTEMBER Joining with the Utica Church of Christ for our first combined Children’s Christmas musical, to be presented on December 14. (watch for details)
OCTOBER Organizing a Thanksgiving Community Choir to sing on November 23rd at Church of the Nativity, 6:30 PM service.
In In addition, I am thankful for: our awesome praise team led by Terry Wohlford, our amazing children/youth music led by Cindy Harvel, and our astounding chancel choir accompanied by Martha Evans, who also makes our organ sing! Bouquets of blessings to all who have participated in special music this year. I love you all and am grateful to serve with you as we glorify God in music.
