Seniors are taken home from the Senior Center in a bus that leaves the Center at 12:15PM, and a second bus that leaves the Senior Center at 1:30PM (or after afternoon activities). (Closed President's Day, Thanksgiving and next day , Christmas. ). To ride the FREE bus phone 718-0444 Monday through Friday. Give the dispatcher your first name and address and say which routes you want to ride on in the morning and afternoon. You can schedule a standing appointment . Please be ready 10 minutes before your pick up time. Phone if you want to cancel a pickup. KAY COUNTY RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP): is located at 205 West Hartford, Suite 100 in Ponca City . Phone Traci at =762-9412. The office of Kay County RSVP is funded by NSSC, Oklahoma Dept of Human Services and the Ponca City United Way . RSVP provides free help to find a place where you are needed and can volunteer in over 60 public and private agencies in Kay County . They also have free volunteer secretaries to help you write, copy letters etc. They have a free program called "Partners in Awareness" that works with our Ponca City Police and Emergency agencies to know where elderly and handicapped persons live who might need assistance in storms or other emergency situations. They have FREE emergency cell phones to give you that only phone 911. . They have a program for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren on 2nd Mondays at 5:30-7PM in the First Christian Church with meal for Grandparents and grandchildren followed by activities for both. They offer free daily telephone reassurance checks for those who live alone. They have a Caretaker support group on first Tuesdays at noon with lunch at lst Lutheran Church 1101 N. 4th. They help people enroll for free in- town and out-of-town transportation with NODA. They have an informative web site at   www. RSVPPC. org
MCCORD SENIOR CENTER 115 E. MARY ROAD in the Osage. Open 10AM-1:30PM Monday-Friday Information= 762-9350. Lunches served= 11AM-12:30PM Monday through Friday (no reservations needed, seconds available-- and meals delivered to homebound within 5 miles of the Center. $3.50 suggested donation for persons age 55 and older, $5 charge if under age 55, $2.50 for children. Free Activities: Tuesday=10AM-12PM Live Music and 12:30PM Pitch Party, Thursday= 12:30PM Bingo (25 cents a card). Free blood pressure check on some Wednesdays, and foot checkups by reservation-phone Peggy Wilson 762-9350 . Operated by McCord Senior Center Board.
55 AND OVER CLUB Meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30AM-4PM for card and other table games and fellowship. Bring food to share on the snack table. Information=765-9546. Operated in the 4 Square Church's Building at 700 West Broadway by the 55 and Over Club, Ponca City's longest running Sr. Citizen program.
SENIOR CIRCLE: at PC Medical Center, 1900 N. l4th ($15 a year membership) Mon,Wed,Fri =9AM Chair Exercises in the PCMC Cafeteria. Even Month Birthday Parties, Pitch Parties, Mahjongg, memory screening. This National not-for-profit group, also gives members special benefits at Hospitals, Drug and Vision Care discounts, Day and extended trips, Bi -monthly Newsletter and National Magazine. YOUR PONCA CITY UNITY RECREATION CENTER 1908 E. Woodland Road , is operated by the PC Parks and Recreation Services. It has free activities on Monday and Wednesday= 1-3PM Sr Citizen Bridge Parties; Monday and Wednesdays 6:30AM -3PM and Thurs,Friday,6:30AM-11:30AM Tues indoor Walking ; Basketball on Monday and Wednesday till 3PM. YMCA Visit their new building at Grand and Waverly. They have Senior Sneakers exercise classes Mon.-Wed.-Fri 10:30-11:20 and Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30-11:20 is "Senior Splash"-Swimming Pool activities." These and other YMCA activities are available to those who pay senior citizen membership dues ($10 a day, $30 a month, $300 a year or Free for Seniors who have certain "Arcadian, "American Association of Retired Persons" or "Humana" Medical Insurance policies.  Information=Stephany Williams 765-5417

STANDING BEAR MUSEUM, EDUCATION CENTER and PARK have FREE ADMISSION on 601 Standing Bear Parkway (South on 4thStreet at Hiway 60) . Open Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM , Sat 10AM-2PM , Closed Sundays. Exhibits include Smithsonian Native American-Black history, Artworks by Wilt Harris, and a display onThe Making of the Movie "The Trial of Standing Bear" , Art work of Oreland C. Joe, Tribal Displays. This is in Standing Bear Park which has a 22 foot bronze statue of Standing Bear, and local Indian informational tribal exhibits along a walking path. There are also walking trails across the park and a Labyrinth Meditation Walk as well as the camp grounds and the Standing Bear Powwow grounds for the powwow held the last weekend in September.
