Getting to Know Tim Schwartz

Pastor Tim is a young minister who has a passion for touching people’s lives for Jesus Christ.

He was raised in the church and baptized by the Reverend Ned Flexer in 1987 at Roxborough Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA.  During his high school years, his family started attending the Baptist Temple in Blue Bell, PA and quickly found a church home in the warm and loving congregation.  Pastor Tim graduated from James Madison University with his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree in 1998.  While at James Madison U, he participated in the marching band, pep band, honor council, Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship and worked as a resident advisor and hall director.  Pastor Tim heard his calling by God to the ministry through his work as a hall director as he worked with, ministered to and shared the hope that he knows in Christ with people in crises within his resident hall.  After college, Pastor Tim attended Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He graduated with his Master of Divinity degree in May 2002.

Pastor Tim has a variety of ministry experience.  He spent one year as the Seminary Intern at the Baptist Temple where he had the opportunity to develop his pastoral gifts.  During 2002, he was employed as the Associate Pastor of Youth Ministry at New Britain Baptist Church and enjoyed the opportunity to work with and touch the lives of youth.  Pastor Tim just completed his internship at the Baptist Church of the Great Valley where he has spent the last seven months of 2002 starting a youth group at the church.  Pastor Tim has also had the opportunity to do ministry work on the regional and national levels.  He has helped facilitate and been the featured speaker at various retreats and conferences for both the Philadelphia Baptist Association and the American Baptist Boys and Young Men.  Pastor Tim most recently co-led the American Baptist Boys and Young Men’s Conference at Green Lake, Wisconsin, in July 2001.

In January 2002, Pastor Tim was appointed to be the first National Coordinator of American Baptist Boys and Young Men.  He was the keynote speaker at the 70th Annual Conference for American Baptist Men and Boys of New York at Keuka College in August of 2002.  He appeared as a keynote speaker for the American Baptist Men of PA and DE’s Annual Conference in August of 2003.  Pastor Tim has also provided numerous resources for the American Baptist Men that have come through his expansive research into men’s issues.  He is the author of the American Baptist Men’s Sunday Information Packet from 1999-2001.

In his free time, Pastor Tim enjoys golf and most sports, reading, and playing his guitar.  He considers it a privilege and an honor to be called into the ordained ministry.  It is Pastor Tim’s prayer that God would use him in mighty ways to build His kingdom here on earth.

During a marriage ceremony in July 2006, Tim and Jennifer Rugletic became man and wife. See additional information about Jenn and how the two met elsewhere on our website.
