Condolence Book

Remember, life is short – too short for some – but this life is not the end. Heaven awaits. Hope is not lost. May you find comfort and hope in Jesus and in the knowledge that Pastor Rodger is not lost. He is not in our past. He is in our future.

The other day i passed the place, you always liked to go
and i picked up the phone because, i thought you wanna know
but i forgot you weren't there i miss you all these days, that iam reminded of your smile and the funny things you'd say
i see you most at christmas, you were like, a little kid
you always loved a good surprise, and now i must admit, that i long more for heaven than ever did before
you give me one more reason and each day i want it more

(chorus)
knowing we can spend a life time reminiscing on the past, knowing i will see your face again where tender moments last
it makes me wanna go there
(knowing i wont be alone)
knowing you'll be there
makes it easy to go home

you left a group of fisherman
somehow, you left me too
though i have felt you many times, i know you saw me through
i always long to feel your arms and look into your eyes, and talk forever me and you somewhere in paradise. (back to chorus)

We know for him it is a wonderful Triumph and great welcome home. We are praying for Renee and the boys. May God put his arms around you and comfort your hearts. To Rodgers' church family, may God bring you through this difficult time. You will never find another Rodger! Yet God has a man for you to "stand in the gap..." God Bless you all. I just wanted to send a note how Pastor Rodger, you, the boys, and the Perkey one effected our lives.
1) You blessed Art when he would drop in on you.
2) When we came to visit, you went out of your way to make us feel welcomed
3) You let me call you when Art wasn't feeling well and Rodger would always call back and pray with him.

I will miss pastor, but he is now singing with the saints and walking on the streets of glory

Brother Berkey was so very special to us. The first time we visited the Church, Pastor Berkey was the first person to shake our hands and introduce himself. We have really appreciated his visits to our home and the way he became such a special person and advisor in our lives. He was and still is a very special wonderful soul. He isn't dead, but totally healed and completely happy with the Lord.

Our prayers are with you, Renee, Justin and Christopher. We know God will be with you.

Dear Sister Berkey and Friends at Antrim Assembly,

Faith and I want to say how sorry we were when we received the news from Bro. Crosby, that your Dear Husband, and Pastor went
to be with the Lord.

I will not soon forget the two visits that I had with you all during our 2005 itineration! What a wonderful welcome I had and the last time that I was there, we had a meal together and I had such a delightful evening there. Pastor Berkey was such an encourager and his smile and humor were so refreshing.

We will pray for God's comfort and strength to be yours during these
difficult days.

God bless you in your time of sorrow!

From two of your missionary family,

With our love and prayers,

Dear Sister Berkey and Congregation:

Word has reached us of the home going of your husband and pastor. Please accept our deep feeling of love and sympathy to you.

The Assemblies of God owes a great debt to the dedicated soldiers of the Cross, who have served this world wide Fellowship through the years. While we are saddened by the news of Brother Berkey’s passing, we rejoice in knowing that death does not have the final word. There will be a tomorrow.

No doubt there will be days that will tax the best of your inner strength. Be assured of our prayerful concern for you in the days ahead. Above all, you have the promise of God's Word: "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." We can also draw courage and strength in the hope that is ours through Christ Jesus. God has a plan for your life personally and also for Antrim Assembly. Look to Him daily for His guidance.

May the Comforter keep you in perfect peace and may God bless you with His love, His hope, and His strength.

Sincerely,

Thomas E. Trask

A Special Valentine's Day

Today, I had the opportunity to attend the funeral service of Pastor Rodger Berkey. Even though the ice covered roads made traveling treacherous, I just had to go and honor a good friend who packed a lot of love for God and for others in his 52 years of life. His legacy was evident in the lives of his family, congregation and friends. The most moving moment was watching his wife Renee worship Jesus with all her heart as her husband lay in the front of the church on Valentine's Day of all days. Pastor Steve Tourville clearly communicated that Jesus will never leave us even though loved ones may. Seeing a newly, widowed woman of God love the Lord made this Valentine's day very special.

To The Antrim Assembly of GOD Church Family,
In the time we attended Antrim and got to know Pastor Berkey there is one thing that defenitely stood out about him and his loving family. They would go out of their way to help other people and they always put others before themselves. Pastor Berkey was a true man of God and he was there for our family during the most happiest and trying times of our life. He married Kelly and I in a co-pastored ceremony and he came to the University of MD when our daughter, Kaylee, was born and ministered and prayed for her healing. Pastor Berkey has entered the gates of Heaven and he is no longer suffering! We will miss him so much!
Love,
Kevin, Kelly, and Kaylee Wetzel

I have many memories of Pastor and his family. But the best is when he allowed me to minister to the church family with the Loud voice the God gave me. I will miss his prayers when I called when I was sick. As in the song THANK YOU FOR GIVING TO THE LORD.
