Brightwood Christian Church - Bethel Park, Pennsylvania
Brightwood is one of over 60 congregations in the Pennsylvania Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We can be found right in the heart of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
Brightwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a part of a body of believers which number approximately 800,000 in some 3700 congregations in the United States and Canada (This Protestant denomination is one of the largest faith groups founded on American soil) The founders called themselves simply, Christians, denouncing all human creeds and adhering to The Bible as the only standard of faith and practice.
Our aim at Brightwood Christian Church is to share the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ. We are a warm and caring church that continues to grow and work together in love of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
We are based in Scripture and look to the Bible for guidance in our worship, our faith, and our daily lives. We are an ecumenical congregation and we are involved in many inter-church activities in this community as well as throughout the state, nation, and world. We believe in shared leadership and want a church where both clergy and laity are active and responsible.
We accept members on a simple confession of their belief that Jesus is the Son of God. Baptism by immersion follows.
You need to come and see us sometime. We will try to make you feel as comfortable as possible!

"I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness." - NRSV John 12:46
"The purpose of this church shall be as revealed in the New Testament to win people to faith in Jesus Christ and commit them actively to the Church, to help them grow in grace and knowledge of Christ that they may increasingly know and do his will, and work for the unity of all Christians and, with them, engage in the common task of building the Kingdom of God." -- Excerpt from Brightwood Christian Church Constitution and By-Laws
