Who is the Church of the Brethren?
In the New Testament, the word "brethren" describes a community of men and women who chose another way of living: the way of Jesus. The Church of the Brethren, begun three centuries ago in Germany, soon came to Germantown (now Philadelphia), still draws people who want to continue Jesus' work of steadfast faithfulness and dedicated service.
·For guidance, Brethren look to the scriptures rather than to doctrine.
·Our faith emphasizes compassion, peacemaking, and simplicity.
·We baptize those who seek to follow Jesus.
·We anoint for healing.
·We celebrate Love Feast, the re-enactment of the Last Supper, at which Jesus washed his disciples' feet and offered the bread and cup of communion.
oAnd programs such as the world-wide relief organization, Heifer International, which has its roots
in the Church of the Brethren.
And much, much more.

Pastor Larry, his wife Barbara and their three Bichons live in Oaks, PA. They have two sons, Shawn, a 2008 graduate of Cornell Law , and Bryan, a 2008 Graduate from Elizabethtown College.(see link for this Church of the Brethren Colleges). The Skippack Church Meetinghouse and Grounds
Nestled on eleven beautiful acres in the heart of Montgomery County, at the corner of Mill and Collegeville Roads, the church is half way between Skippack village and Collegeville.
The Skippack Church meeting house was built in 1855 after the congregation met for years in a nearby barn. The church was expanded in 1960 to meet the needs of a growing community. In the 1970's a gym and a dining hall were added. In 2005 the Wisler Woods Outdoor Chapel, along with trails and picnic sites enhanded the use of the entire property.
The Skippack Church of the Brethren not only offers a lovely place to worship but is a great place to bring your group for events, retreats, and special services.
