Skippack Church
A small country church, with a large love of Jesus

Peace be with You!

Peace is an important part of the Brethren witness for Christ.  Whether it's expressed within one's heart, between neighbors, in our community or world-wide, Brtehren have been known for three centuries as a people of peace.

At Skippack we express this witness in a variety of ways, such as:

  • The "Pennies for Peace" program where members donate their spare change throughout the year to provide peace scholarships to local, college bound high schools.
  • The planting of the Skippack Peace Pole.  Dedicated in 2007, the peace pole, at the gateway to Wisler Woods, is a daily reminder to the Brethren witness for peace.
  • Annual Peace Retreats.  Each year the Skippack congregation sponsors an annual peace retreat for the region's Church of the Brethren and other denomination's youth. Guest speakers often have personal perspectives of peace, such as eye-witnesses to the conflicts in the Middle East, or the nation's poverty.
  • Sunday "Time for Peace" in each worship service, where we reflect on the peace that Jesus brings to each of us and how we can take His peace to the world.

The Skippack Church Peace Pole - found at the start of the trail to the Wisler Woods chapel.
