Our Purpose for Worship
…is to bring you into a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ as you worship. We desire that you would enter and sense God’s presence, know God’s love, and do this surrounded by people who you will get to know and grow to love. 1 John 4:7-11
To accomplish this purpose, we plan worship that:
- Seeks to please God first. Exodus 20:3; Psalm 100:3; Hebrews 12:2
- Is driven by a commitment to help people say “Yes” to God…creating a worship environment to which we will want to bring our friends, and to which they will want to return. Matthew 28:16-20; 1 Corinthians 14:23-25
- Is committed to excellence in all we do. Genesis 4:3-5; Hebrews 11:4
- Is thoroughly biblical in all we do…from music to dramas to videos to messages. 2 Timothy 2:2; Psalm 89:1; 1 Corinthians 11:23-24
- Is practical in order to help people in their daily lives. Psalm 119:9-16
- Allows the participation of all those gathered. Acts 2:42; Ephesians 5:19-20; Colossians 3:16
- Is joyful, innovative, sensitive, reverent, and relaxed…open to creative ideas…flexible and patient. Isaiah 6:1-3; Acts 16:25-26
- Allows people to be free and confident as they meet with God, without fear of being judged by others. Psalm 89:15-16
- Encourages people as the Holy Spirit meets with us each week. James 5:13
To accomplish this purpose for worship, worship is planned to honor God and be accessible to those who are at various points on their ever-changing faith journey. Our desire is that all our worship brings glory to God and joy and meaning to our lives. Revelation 7:11-12
