How We Do Ministry...  Faith In Action

                 with love and service

With in the Congregation

  • Teachers, Shepherds and other assistants in classes. 
  • Lay people participate as Greeters, Ushers, Lay Readers, Altar Guild, and Communion Assistants. 
  • Worship services are recorded.   
  • Lay Eucharist Ministers take Holy Communion to our homebound and people in nursing homes.  
  • Volunteer drivers take others for appointments, etc.  
  • Special luncheons and communion services for our homebound and nursing home members.  
  • Good Samaritan Program provides support within our congregation and community to those suffering events of a catastrophic nature.
  • Get Well, Birthday, Sympathy, and Baby congratulations cards are mailed.   
  • Telephone calls are made to people living alone for friendly chats.  
  • Meals are delivered to people in certain circumstances. 

Within the Community

  • Ecumenical food bank donations and volunteers--donations are received the first Sunday of each month.  
  • Happy Quilter's Group meets Tuesday  mornings, September through May at 9:00 a.m.  Beautifu knot quilts are lovingly made for baby and young children's baptism,  for Lutheran World Relief and for a homeless shelter.  The Happy Quilter's Group also make lap robes for residents living at the County Home and Slate Belt Nursing & Rehab Center.  
  • Missionary Sponsorship Program--currently the congregation is helping to sponsor a missionary from Mexico.  
  • Children's Christmas gift project--participate through the ecumenical food bank.  
  • Infant clothing and furniture--collected and given to a local pregnancy crisis center.  
  • Annual Ingathering--Christmas gifts and money--collected for distribution to nursing homes in cooperation with other churches in the Pocono Mission District. 
  • Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troops
  • Campbell's labels--collected for an Indian reservation.   
  • Collect soda tabs for people needing Dialysis.  
  • Participate in the Blood Bank Program.
