St. John Lutheran Church

1802 Skippack Pike, Center Square (Blue Bell), Pa. 19422

Our services on Sunday morning are held at 8:15 and 10:30 year round. Both services are built around the liturgies found in Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW), the worship book and hymnal of the ELCA . Those familiar with the Roman Catholic or Episcopalian worship style will find much in common with the Lutheran order of worship. The 8:15 service is contemplative in nature and entirely spoken. The 10:30 service is accompanied by music, using the full range of hymnody from the time of the Reformation until the present.   Everything needed to follow along and participate in our services is printed in our weekly bulletin; no books or hymnals are necessary!

The Holy Communion is celebrated at all of our Sunday services. St. John's practices eucharistic hospitality; all baptized Christians are welcome to participate as we gather at Christ's table. Young children may also come forward and receive a blessing. In addition to Sunday worship, we offer several special services during the church year including Christmas Eve (5 and 10 p.m.), Christmas Day (10:30 a.m.), all the Wednesdays in Lent (7:30 p.m.), Holy Thursday and Good Friday (7:30 p.m.), The Vigil of Easter  (8 p.m.), Easter morning (7:30 and 10:30 a.m.) and on Thanksgiving Eve (7:30 p.m.)

Musical leadership at our 10:30 services is provided by the Senior Choir and St. John's Handbell Choir.  Membership in the choirs is open to all members of the congregation with rehearsals held on Thursday evenings.

Child care is provided in classroom S8 during the 10:30 service. Please ask one of our greeters or ushers for help with finding the nursery, restrooms or water fountains. And after service, join us in the Greatroom, our gathering place, for coffee, cookies and conversation!
