Welcome to Glen Riders!

The Glen Riders Bicycle Club is a group of dedicated Christian bicyclists from Bucks and Montgomery Counties of Pennsylvania. From its humble beginnings more than ten years ago the club has grown to over forty members. The purpose of the club is simply to promote Christian fun, fellowship, bicycle safety, and healthy living. The Glen Riders are also considered an outreach ministry of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church and seeks to accept all persons who merely enjoy the opportunity to ride throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The Glen Riders has always been a very service and commmunity oriented group that promotes the joy of bicycling and the fellowship of Christians coming together in a unique way. In addition to weekly group rides around Bucks and Montgomery Counties, club members can be found at numerous other bicycling events which include: National Multiple Sclerosis Society "PA Dutch Tour" or the "City to Shore", Indian Creek Foundation's "Roll and Stroll", the Univest Grand Prix, and several regional bicycle rides hosted by other bicycle clubs. The Glen Rider's also host some of their own specialty bicycle rides which include rides on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day.

The Glen Riders have a distinct purpose of being a positive influence on the greater community and of introducing people to the joy and freedom of riding a bicycle. The club members are very excited to have been given the opportunity by Blooming Glen Mennonite Church to grow into an established Bicycle Club in southeastern Pennsylvania. If you would be interested in joining the club, please feel free to contact them Glen Riders, c/o Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Rd, Box 238, Blooming Glen, PA 18911 or glenriders@verizon.net.

A highlight for a number of the group during the 2005 season was a ride accross Pennsylvania. Click here for a blog of the ride: Cross Pennsylvania Ride (XPA3)

Good Riding!

Summer '08 Schedule

Our plans for this summer will include a variety of riding events. Regular Saturday morning rides are planned until the last Saturday in October. We hope you can join us as we meet and leave from the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church parking lot, unless otherwise noted .

New this year is a second group for recreational riders at a more relaxed pace beginning at 8:00 am. The group ride starting at will generally be longer and a faster pace (approx. 25 to 50 miles at 15 to 17 mph).

Bad weather is always a concern; good common sense and safety first will always be the key factors. The daily ride leader will have the decision if the group is to ride or not. Each rider will have the responsibility of their own decision.
