Board of Deacons Ministry - The office of Deacon, as set forth in Scripture, is one of sympathy, witness and service after the example of Jesus Christ. It is the duty of deacons to minister to those within and without the community of believers, first to those in need, to the sick, the friendless and to anyone in distress.
FPC has the church body divided into 18 parishes or geographical areas, each with a deacon as leader. Each area (parish) has 12 or more families.
The services performed by the deacons can be divided into the following groups:
Care and support of the members in their parish
Prayer Chain
Walk-in Ministry
College student Ministry
Hospital Ministry
Providing Meals
Providing Funeral and Wedding support
Unemployment Ministry
Military Ministry
Assist in serving the Lord's Supper
