The Children's Ministry Planning Team have developed outstanding and creative learning opportunities for children from birth through elementary age.
In the children's ministry, we seek to have our children grow to develop
life-transforming relationships with our Lord Jesus Christ.
We welcome Dave Rathman, our new Children's Ministry Director.
Current programs include:
- Nursery / Crib room-- Loving care and short Bible story activities are available continuously every Sunday morning for children from birth through 36 months. Each new baby receives a “My First Bible” board book as they are welcomed into the church family.

- First & 2nd Hour Preschool Activity Time -- During the 9:30 service each Sunday, children age 3 through kindergarten may join their friends in the Pre-School room for a Bible lesson and related activities. During the summer the main lesson will be taught during this first hour. During the 2nd hour, children can stay for some play-time and activities while their parents and older siblings attend their own educational programs.
- Children’s Church - Children in grades 1-5 leave the worship service prior to the sermon. Dave leads the lesson. The summer theme is 'Witnesses'. The summer theme includes an original theme song, a lesson, and a take home project designed by Dave.
- Sunday School every week, 10:30 - 11:45 am. A fun opening time of singing, Bible memory and games followed by age-appropriate classes for K - 5th grades. This summer's theme is 'His Works and His Words', a study of seven miracles and seven 'I Am' statements of Jesus.
- Special Events-- Included "Puppet Pals" in October 2006, annual Christmas pageant, and singing in worship. The children packed boxes in November as part of Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project, and chose Samaritan's Purse and the Berks County Food Bank to receive their 2006 offering.
- Things of Interest: Jaime Macadangdang painted a beautiful Noah's ark mural in our nursery over her Christmas holiday. Trudy Bush made new curtains, and Casey Kretzing has been busy painting furniture. Our five neigborhood children received their very own Bibles on January 7th. These kids are great, and we are blessed to have them be part of us.
