Logans Ferry Presbyterian Church
A CHRIST-CENTERED FRIENDLY CHURCH SINCE 1856

From Pastor Bob to you.

We all know the old joke.  How many Presbyterians does it take to change a light bulb?  Change?  Why change?  That light bulb has been with us for over a century and even though it has been burnt out for decades, we really like that light bulb!  Sometimes change is not funny at all, other times it becomes necessary.  Change is inevitable.  So...as the world rapidly changes around us, what can we hold on to for security in our lives?  What (or should I say Who) is unchangeable? That will be the focus of our worship this coming Sunday.  Come and worship.  All are welcome!

Please also remember that there will be a congregational meeting following the worship hour.  This meeting is for the presentation of the 2010 budget and election of officers for 2010 terms.

Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name
And the upright will live before you. Psalm 140: 13

Here we go again…the holidays! I was meeting with the Salvation Army last month and one of the topics on the agenda was the Red Kettle Campaign. No longer do they get volunteers to stand with the kettle beginning Thanksgiving weekend. The kick off is now the first week in November. I am already planning worship for the Advent/Christmas season. Yes…I am a detail person and I will not be comfortable until I know which Sunday in Advent we will be singing, “There’s A Song In the Air” and until the outline for Christmas Eve worship is in my briefcase. Despite how busy we get, regular worship needs to be a part of this season. The Clergy Association has scheduled an opportunity for worship at its annual Community Thanksgiving Eve worship service. This year, the service will be hosted by Arnold Methodist on November 25. The service will begin at . Yes the night before the ‘feast’ is always busy but the righteous will pause and take the time to worship, giving thanks to the name of our Almighty God for all that we have received. The upright will live before God and acknowledge that all good things come from God’s loving hands.

Blessings & Peace,

Pastor Bob
