The Barren Run Youth are a group of good and dedicated kids. They fulfill their spiritual obligations by serving as acolytes and ushers for the services. When there is a fifth Sunday in the month . the young people conduct the morning worship services. When there is a guest speaker, they also begin the services.
Located on the grounds is the old Barren Run one room school house that was built in 1871. When Yough opened up a new learning facility across the road in 1971, the doors were closed. Since then it has been used as a storage facility by the church.
Recently the trustees, at the urging of the youth leaders, gave the group permission to turn the building into a youth center.
The group is comprised of 18 energetic youth ranging in age from 6th to 12th grade. They plan on holding fundraisers to restore the building.
