The Barren Run Youth are a group of good and dedicated kids. They fulfill their spiritual obligations by serving as acolytes and ushers for the services. When there is a fifth Sunday in the month . the young people conduct the morning worship services.
Located on the grounds is the old Barren Run one room school house that was built in 1871. When Yough opened up a new learning facility across the road in 1971, the doors were closed. Since then it has been used as a storage facility by the church.
Recently the trustees, at the urging of the youth leaders, gave the group permission to turn the building into a youth center.
The group is comprised of 18 energetic youth ranging in age from 6th to 12th grade. They plan on holding fundraisers to restore the building.
New windows and doors have been installed. The inside is being painted. getting ready to open as a youth center.
