Chippers & Carvers is an outreach group made up of men and women who enjoy the art of creating objects out of wood. Started 8 years ago, the group is presently attended by about 12 people. They are readily enthusiastic to welcome anyone who wishes to join, including youth!

They clearly are a group designed for fun loving fellowship, artistic expression and community outreach. Chippers & Carvers freely give the Love & Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ through the sharing of their gifts, be it around the carving table in a bountiful pile of wood chips, or with anyone they may meet, work or fellowship with individually outside the walls of the church hall.

Carvings created in mutitudes, such as crosses and twig flowers, have been distributed to many people that the carvers have come into contact with. Giving an object freely to another, that has been created through the surrender to The Holy Spirit, is giving AGAPE. Freely giving God's love to others and eachother is the center of the Chippers & Carvers ministry.

Every year in the month of July, the group attends the North East Woodworkers Round-Up, in Honesdale Pennsylvania, as representatives of God and DFUMC.

The group meets every Wednesday from 9:00 am until 12 noon, and will generally continue their fellowship over a group lunch at a local cafe or participants home.

Is God calling you to use your gifts with wood to serve Him?

There are no limitations on one's ability, as the group represents many levels of craftmanship, and there is no artistic ability necessary to give and receive God's Love through fellowship, an open heart and a love for sharing.

It is recommended to bring tools, however wood is provided through the yearly dues of $20.00.

There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.    1 Corinthians 12:6 NIV
