VBS2009 - Dingmans Ferry United Methodist Church

This year the youth in our community experienced

the enduring love of God on the docks of the bayou.

In the deepest darkest swamps

where crocodiles and snakes and very big insects reside...

...kids from all over Dingmans Ferry

conquered their fears

with God's light shining brightly in their hearts!

On Tuesday we learned that "God is Powerful" , experiencing the plagues God laid upon Egypt to convince Pharoah to let His people go!

exodus 7:17

¹⁷Thus says the Lord, “By this you shall know that I am the Lord.” See, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water that is in the Nile, and it shall be turned to blood.

On Wednesday, we learned that "God does what He says He'll do" through the story of the Israelites on Passover.

¹³Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds.

On Monday we learned that "God is with us" through the story of God speaking to Moses in the burning bush.

Exodus 3:12

¹²He said, “I will be with you; and this shall be the sign for you that it is I who sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God on this mountain.”

On Thursday we learned that "God gives us life" by hearing the story of Jesus dying on the cross and his coming back to life!

Matthew 28:5-6

⁵But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. ⁶He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.

On Friday we learned that "God cares for us" through the amazing story of how the Israelites crossed the Red Sea.

exodus 14:13

¹³But Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid, stand firm, and see the deliverance that the Lord will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today you shall never see again.
