The appointed pastor is given the responsibility of Worship. The Book of Discipline, on the responsibilities of a pastor, says the pastor is “to preach the Word of God, lead in worship, read and teach the Scriptures and engage the people in study and witness.”

Our church, as with other local churches; elects a worship committee to work with the pastor and the music leaders in planning for and preparing the worship services.

Responsibilities of the Worship Committee

Sanctuary: dressing the altar, decorations for services

Services: planning special services throughout the Christian year

Music: planning special music within the services

Communion: coordinating set up pf the elements as well as scheduling eucharistic ministry

Laity: Corrdinating schedules for ushers, greeters, worship leaders

Assisting the Pastor with anything that concerns the worship service and the worship activity of the congregation.
