MEN'S NIGHT OUT!

 Millerton Wesleyan Church

You are invited to take advantage of this incredible opportunity. Each Monday (7pm-9pm),beginning on February 21, a unique "Men's Night Out" will provide you with an occasion togather with your friends as you play pool, ping pong, darts, foosball, air hockey, cards, twoon-two basketball, a crazy surprise - "made by men - made for men - 'Minute To Win It' fishing derby" on the gym floor and much, much more!

In addition to the various games, each evening there will be freshly prepared flat-top food. As men, we're interested in fishing, baseball, hockey, trains and all that other "good stuff". We do plan to take trips to these venues and in all probability we'll use a bus.

During the summer we'll do outdoor things - not just "for men" but also with our families. You are encouraged to come and discover the camaraderie of "men doing men things."

Weekday Ministries

Children

We are off to a great start – new kids – returning kids and kids that are no longer with us because they’ve moved up to the Youth Group. I have never had a better staff to work with. We’re excited because not only are we able to offer the traditional children’s ministry teaching which is development in the Christian life, but this year we’ve added another level – biblically based Earth Science. Matt Doud is team teaching this course with Pastor Laurie and Faith Preston is working with them on the Small Group Application.  In addition to Matt, we’re pleased to announce our other new team members – Pete & Dayna Baker (Grades 2 - 3 Small Group leaders); Jessica Kratzer, Cindy and Katy Barber (music). Returning this year are Jarose Bolt (Grades K – 1 Small Group), Steve Harris – general assistant, Barbara Greenlaw and Denise Hultz snack and general assistants.

Youth

In the youth minisitry here, our desire is to see students develop a personal relationship with Christ and to offer a place where they can grow in that relationship. Our community is a place where anyone is welcome to come and be a part. Youth group is held on Wednesday nights and is a time for teens to get together and have some fun. In addition to midweek youth group, there is also a teen Sunday School class and special events that take place periodically.

Young Adults

Our young adults ministry is for people in the post high school to mid 30s range. We are looking to minister to this group of people by giving them something that they can relate to in there lives right now. It is open to singles, married couples and people with families. We are very flexible with families with small children and your children are welcome at events. There is a Sunday School class that meets each week as well as special events like dinners and bowling.

Adult

  • Wesleyan Women – a monthly ministry for support, encouragement and outreach.
  • Secret Pals – a unique support and caring ministry among women
  • Marriage Reinforcement – seminars, retreats
  • Families with children at home – soon to come – ministry of helps and support.
  • Best Year’s Fellowship – 3rd Wednesday – dish to pass followed by interesting programs.

  2. Prayer Breakfasts once a month

Bottles and Cans to Fishes and Loaves

We are continuing to collect 5 cent bottles and cans which will now be used to buy food through Angel Food Ministries for families in need.  Bring your bottles and cans to the church, Monday through Friday (9 am - 4 pm) or Sundays.  There are receptacles located in the gym.  And don't forget your NY state water bottles are also worth 5 cents. Turn your trash into Fishes and Loaves and help us, help others!!

"But He (Jesus) answered and said to them, "You give them something to eat". Mark 6:37
