Millerton Wesleyan Church

We exist in Jesus Christ to help spiritually needy people become fully devoted people of God.

WESLEYAN WOMEN,CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS

For several days prior to Thanksgiving, a number of ladies, taking time from their already busy schedules, baked cookies, breads, muffins after which they decorated, filled and delivered “Thanksgiving” boxes. Approximately 25 people in the Church and the community received these boxes. The contents were not as important as the message they delivered – “you are special and we love you and care for you.”

Immediately following Thanksgiving, the women began to put together “Christmas” boxes (pre-paid phone cards and goodies) for our service men (overseas and at home) as well as our college students. I want to thank everyone who participated. Your ministry of reaching out is in part enabling us to fulfill our purpose - “doing what we can, when we can to serve others and to share Christ’s love with them”.

I want to remind all the women of the Tuesday (2nd and 4th) Bible Study and of the Prayer Breakfast (8:30) on the 3rd Saturday. Both of which are held in my home.

Please watch your bulletin for information concerning events and ministries following Christmas. The next event is the “revealing of Secret Pals” – January 27.

If you have not been able to participate in our fellowship and ministry occasions, I encourage you to take the time. Our lives are rushed and stress filled, and these occasions will serve as your “little oasis” in the midst of a hectic world.

In Christ’s love and service,

Barbara Greenlaw
